Ways in Which I’m Trying to Be Healthier*

    October 3, 2018 /

I have to admit, in 2018 I have barely made any effort to have a healthy relationship with food. I have stuffed myself with cakes, chocolate, fizzy drinks, ate tons of take aways and just never batted an eyelid. But I am now officially heavier than I was at 9 months pregnant (although I underweight before falling pregnant) and I think that was the eye opener I needed. Not only am I the biggest I’ve ever been, I’m actually noticing it. I’m short with a small frame an the extra weight is taking it’s toll on my hips and back. My skin is a mess from all the sugar and…

5 Reasons Why You Should Book a Villa for Your Next Holiday*

    October 1, 2018 /

Well, that’s summer officially over. The leaves are falling, the conkers are coming down and it’s time to go bramble picking. The long winter now lies ahead of us, so a lot of people are thinking about their summer holiday for 2019. This time of year is the planning stage for many families (myself and my parents included) where you decide what kind of a holiday you want next year. Beach or ski? Family or couple? Of course as a parent I’m always in the family category and since I can’t ski I always opt for a bit of guaranteed sun! If you are a family, especially a family larger…

What are the Biggest Causes of Heat Loss in the Home?*

    September 20, 2018 /

When your home is losing heat, it isn’t just getting cold that you need to worry about, you also need to worry about the inflated heating bills that you could have avoided. Energy charges are notoriously always increasing, as energy supply companies continually raise fees so the best place to start when it comes to reducing energy costs, is by understanding where your heat is being lost. The next step is then to introduce energy saving solutions such as insulation or looking at a wide range of underfloor heating kits. Credit Where is heat lost in the home? In terms of percentages, the average home loses heat through the following…

Home Content // Getting Crafty: How Ready Is Your Home For Creative Fun?*

    September 20, 2018 /

Whatever it is that you are keen to craft, whether you are looking to make your own beer or even start to make arts and crafts with your little ones, you need to make sure that your home is actually ready for all that activity to take place in the first place. That itself is surprisingly hard to achieve, and often it means that you will need to change things around in the home a fair bit in order to ensure that you can get crafting – in whatever way you want to – without disrupting the rest of your home or anyone else who lives in it. In this…

    Meet “The Hengelings”*

    September 19, 2018 /

As a parent it’s easy to get bogged down with mindless kids tv shows. I used to be THAT mother who didn’t want my little one to watch much TV, but after parenting for 7 years, it’s inevitable even if it’s just to give yourself 5 minutes peace (and trust me, you’ll be craving it!) I have to admit that I actually credit LM’s speech from a young age to watching TV while I tried to work in the background. I also think it helped with her development emotionally and I have some fond memories of shows we used to watch together when she was young that are no longer…
