The Mummy Tag
I am so tired this evening so I thought i’d do a simple tag, The Mummy Tag. I’ve been tagged by my best friend Bee from over at Journeys are my Diary.
A very old photo of us, the only one I can warrant sharing as she doesn’t really look like this anymore! |
1. Are you a stay at home mum or a working mum?
Currently a stay at home mum, although I do use my blog and writing in general as a source of income. I feel so blessed that I’m able to spend time with my daughter, my mother was a stay at home mum until I was seven and we have an incredibly close bond. I hope the same for Little Miss and I.
2. Would you have it any other way?
Not at all. I went through a phase when I felt like I really needed time to myself and a job seemed like a good idea, now I couldn’t image being away from my daughter for that length of time especially as it’s the two of us, she needs me as much as I need her.
3. Do you co-sleep?
No, aside from my fear of rolling on her, I’d also never get a good night sleep, which is vital as a parent. Saying that there have been times we shared a bed, such as when she’s unwell and on holiday in Cornwall when she was 5 months old. To be honest, she much prefers her bed to mine.
4. What is your one must have item for your baby?
When she was a baby, a bouncing chair! She much preferred to be sat up so she could see what I was up to. It was great for when I needed to get on with some work. Nowadays, I’m not sure, I know Little Miss couldn’t function without her Miss Mouse though, it’s like her best friend.
5. How many kids do you plan on having?
I’d like three. I don’t have any plans to have any for the time being (nor the means in fact) but hopefully five years or so down the line I’ll have met someone and we can have a couple more with a smaller age gap. Of course if we’re broke, I’ll be happy with one more.
6. Date night? How many nights per month?
Never, I’m a single mother.
7. Your child’s favourite show?
That’s a hard one since she changes weekly, Sofia the First is very popular, along with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins and Thomas and Friends.
8. Name one thing you bought before having your baby that you’ve never used?
I tried to use everything, but perhaps the door bouncers. Little Miss was so small she couldn’t use it very well. We used it a maximum of three times.
9. Your child’s favourite food?
Cheese. She has always been a huge fan of it, she’ll eat pretty much any kind, including blue cheese sauce. She’s also a big fan of rice, raisins, grapes, apples, garlic bread and pizza. To be honest, she’s a wonderful eater for her age.
10. How many cars does your family have?
None, I can’t drive.
11. Weight gain before, during and after pregnancy and now.
Before I fell pregnant I was at my thinnest ever, not much over 8 stone wearing size 6-8. I think I went up to just over a 10 stone while pregnant, wearing a comfortable 14. Then I managed to slim down to 9 stone and I wear a 10-12. I’m comfortable with the size I am now and I have definitely learned to dress for my shape.
12. Dream holiday with your kids?
Disney World in Florida. Little Miss is as crazy about all things Disney as I am. But to be honest, I just really want to show her the world.
13. Dream holiday without your kids?
Disney World in Florida? Can I say that?
14. How has your life change since having your baby?
It’s changed in every way. For starters, I’m back in my hometown. I no longer work full time. I don’t go out every week drinking and dancing. I go days without washing my hair or putting on make up. My wardrobe looks different too. I also think I’ve grown up a lot, not just from having my daughter but because of what I’ve went through since having her. I also have more patience!
15. Finish the sentence.. ‘It melts my heart to see..’
Little Miss using her imagination. The games she comes up with are amazing.
16. Where do you shop for your kids?
Uhh, I shop all over the place. Clothes wise Mothercare, Mamas and Papas and Next. Toys, mainly Amazon.
17. Favourite make up and skincare products?
Not sure what this has to be do with being a mother! I use a lot of MAC, Benefit and Urban Decay make up and skincare I used Lush, Bioderma, Kiehls, Yves Rocher, Soap & Glory and Garnier.
18. Huggies or Pampers?
I always used Pampers as nappies, but now she’s wearing Pull Ups, we’re onto Huggies.
19. Have you always wanted kids?
I have and I always wanted a daughter.
20. Best part about being a mum?
There isn’t just one part that’s the best. It’s the whole thing. Watching your child grow from a baby to a little person, it’s honestly amazing. Hearing the first time they say “Mummy” and even better “I love you”. I feel so incredibly lucky to have such a wonderfully polite, intelligent and beautiful little girl.
