5 Virtual Date Ideas While Staying at Home*

You’ve probably heard the phrase “we’re all in this together” many times over the last few weeks. And although that is so true in many ways, if you’re just in the early stages of dating (or even if you’re a few years down the line) and now you’re separated from your partner with no end in sight, it can feel like you’re very much alone. I’m single and it very much feels that way. I’m glad that people are still able to use local dating sites for example Cornwall dating or something for Mature Cornwall Dating so people can still make connections. Even if it means you cannot see each other in person. So here are a few virtual date ideas for when you’re staying apart. And even if you already have a partner but you’re unable to see each other, these fantastic date ideas can work for you too;

Video Call Dinner Date

Probably the first and probably the easiest idea is to have a video call dinner date. You set up your phones opposite each other as you eat dinner. You can have the usual dinner conversation as you would if you were out in a restaurant. You could even decide on playing the same music. Dressing up for the occassion is optional but it will add to the build up of your date night.

Order Take Out for Each Other

This one extends the video call date night a little further, or is great if you’ve already done the generic date night video call. Why not team this with supporting a small business that is still offering take out and delivery. In the same vein as ordering for each other in a restaurant, you can order a meal to be delivered to your other halves home. It’s exciting, fun but make sure you know of any allergies before ordering!

Watch a Movie “Together”

My personal favourite from when I was in a long distance relationship, watch a movie together and you can have a phone call or text discussion about it. We watched the whole Lord of the Rings trilogy and text discussion points. Although it’s not behaviour you’d expect in the cinema, it would quite possibly be something you liked to do at home. It was fun, light hearted and definitely brought us closer together.

Play Truth or Dare

This is a great one if you’re new to the relationship. You can ask all the juicy questions that you’ve been desperate to ask, and it’s all part of a fun game. But remember, if you give out any dares you still need to stay in the confinements of your house. No game is worth going out and adding to the situation.

Make a Tik Tok Video Together

Definitely one for the younger generations (as at 32 I have no idea about Tik Tok but I do enjoy watching the videos). Work together on making some Tik Tok content. They have a great feature where you can put together videos even when you’re not physically together! It can be a lot of fun and it’s something to keep and look back on once this is all over.

Just because we’re all on lockdown, it doesn’t mean your relationship will stop flourishing! You just need to get creative!
