    Looking Back on July 2016

Yay, July is just about over. I really did not get on well mentally with July as I wanted, with having 5 weekends and not spending as much time with my boyfriend as I had in May & June I really struggled with feeling lonely, anxiety and paranoia. I saw him the first weekend and as this post goes live I’ll be in the Peak District celebrating his birthday with a weekend break together. I just may be in the private hot tub. I got so used to seeing him all the time that it was a definite shock to the system this month. But hopefully June will be better.…

Exploring the North East – Barter Books

At the moment Little Miss and I have a friend from the US staying with us meaning we’ve been off on adventures every single day. She’s an Anglophile and love all things quintessentially British which is great because I live in a rather historic part of town. We’ve walked miles every day and my legs are aching but it’s been great and I’ve really enjoyed being a tourist in the county I call home. I don’t plan on staying here forever, so it’s been great letting Little Miss explore! Yesterday we took a bus down to the historic market town of Alnwick to Barter Books. This is somewhere I’ve wanted…

Little Miss’ Last Day of Pre-School

Well today was a big day, one I’ve been dreading but one Little Miss has been so excited about. After three & a half years Little Miss has said goodbye to her nursery and pre-school as she gets ready to make the huge leap to primary school! I cannot believe I had a daughter whom is old enough to start school in September. I remember the first time I held her and she was tiny, starting school seemed so far into the future yet it’s now only 7 weeks away. I’m not ready, but I know she is and she said goodbye to the staff and some of her friends…

    Elsa Arya Update*

In the past few months I’ve talked a lot about Little Miss, and even a fair amount about my boyfriend but there is one other member of our family who hasn’t had enough airtime, the smallest and furriest member of the family, Elsa Arya. You may need a little recap, but Elsa is our cat and as of November we’ll have had her for two years. Her official birthday is the end of this month though, however we chose to celebrate the November date rather than the day she was born. Although I’m a huge advocate of adopting from shelters (my mum’s cat is a shelter cat), I knew as…

    Mid Year Round Up 2016

Oh my goodness, we’re over half way through 2016 already! I can’t believe we’re hurtling straight towards the six weeks summer holidays and we’ve barely seen any sun! Depressing. Anyway, aside from the weather 2016 is actually shaping up to be the best year I’ve had in years! Although my mental health on the whole has been a little more rocky than it was in 2015 due to the fact I’m finally medication for anxiety, PST and depression free, which is a huge achievement in itself. This was something I started to wean myself off at the end of last year when the doctor felt I had become to reliant…

    Dating After a Domestic Abuse

It’s been forever since I sat down and wrote a cathartic piece where I haven’t planned out what I’m going to say, where I just sit and write until I feel like I’ve said all I wanted to say. I’ve had points for this post in my head for the past few weeks and I knew I wanted to write it since I’ve shared all the highs and lows of the last four years on this blog. You’ve all come along with me on my recovery from my last relationship, I’ve shared points of the domestic abuse here that I’ve never ever said out loud to anyone, so I feel…
