Home Content // In The Kitchen, It’s All About The Details*

    September 13, 2018 /

The kitchen is one of the most commonly revamped rooms in homes, and it’s not hard to see why that might be. After all, it holds much of the value of the property itself, so if you are thinking about possibly selling it on at any point, then updating the kitchen is going to be a must. It is also one of the main communal areas in many homes, making is a centre and focal point which can help to tie the many motifs and themes of the home together. What’s more, the kitchen is somewhere you spend a surprising amount of time, and the happier you are with how…

What Colours Do I Favour in my Own Home?

    September 11, 2018 /

A favourite colour is a rather personal thing, don’t you think? Just like a favourite food or place. It can be different with every person. And the same goes for colours that people decorate their homes with. When I was a kid my bedroom was bright yellow as that was my mum’s favourite colour and she did the decorating. When I think about yellow I think about my mum, she’s bright and warm and sees the good in everybody. Even now there are elements of yellow scattered throughout her room. But my sister’s home is all white and grey with the exception of my nephew’s room. Even her cat matches…

The Funny Things About Learning to Drive…

    September 11, 2018 /

Firstly, I want to clear something up.. I cannot drive. But that doesn’t mean that I haven’t tried to learn to drive in the past. I have, at 17, when all the money I was earning was my own, I didn’t have a child to support or even my self to support. However, due to some mishaps and then university, I never passed my test.. in fact I only managed a grand total of five lessons. My provisional has long expired a for the time being I’ve put the learning to drive thing on hold until I’m a bit more financially stable.. and once you hear these two stories i’m…

How to Transform Your Bathroom into a Luxury Spa Getaway*

    September 10, 2018 /

After a long, stressful week at work, nothing sounds more relaxing than a luxury spa getaway. Unfortunately, these can come at a high price for just a one-time outing, and it can take a and age and an additional unwelcome effort to get ready and then into the car again to drive there. The good news is that the calm, serene setting can easily be re-created in your own bathroom for you to use anytime you would like! Moroccan style bathrooms provide great inspiration. This transformation can range from a larger commitment of a luxury steam shower – a complete revamp of your bathroom – to a simple change of…

What We Did for Summer 2018

    September 7, 2018 /

This week summer officially ends for me, as Little Miss goes back to school. It’s not the weather, or the light nights, days at the beach or barbecues that define summer for me, it’s having LM off for six whole weeks. At time they feel like they stretch for years, but then it’s over in the blink of an eye and I wonder why I was so worried about them. This was the first summer I truly struggled. I’d always heard mothers in the school yard saying how difficult summer was, filling the long days on little budget but I wasn’t one of those. I love having LM at home,…
