Walt Disney World Countdown… 90 Days to Go

    January 5, 2015 /

So, it turns midnight and we enter into 2015. The first person I text is my best friend Bee, not saying the standard “Happy new year” no.. I text her saying “We’re going to Florida this year!” I have to admit, although it’s 90 days today til we board our flight, saying it as 3 months makes it feel so much shorter. In fact.. almost panic worthy when you think that 3 months ago it was October and that seems like 5 minutes ago!  Over the last few months Instagram has become my best friend in planning a Disney holiday. I’ve managed to find a lot of Cast…

    In Retrospect // Christmas 2014

    January 4, 2015 /

As I was on hiatus due to family stuff from the middle of December and then my blog has been moving from blogger to self hosted, I didn’t really get a chance to share any Christmas photos. In 2014 I am hoping to share a little more about life with Little Miss, including more photos. I’m tired of living behind blacked out windows and forcing my friends to do the same. Although, I didn’t actually take that many of LM as she’s going through the phase where she won’t pose for photos (or stay still) so I’m trying to keep the camera out of her face until Florida.  Anyway, I’m…

Personal Style – Tell me, princess now when did you last, let your heart decide?

    January 1, 2015 /

Firstly, originally I had absolutely no intention of blogging until I finally got my blog switched over to self hosted WordPress. I wanted a new start along with the new year. However it’s taking longer than I first anticipated due to Enom delaying in releasing my domain. I could of course have this page redirect to a WordPress one but it seems silly to mess around then to only have to try and switch it back when my domain name is finally switched over. I’m really not the most technical minded so I’d prefer to only sort it once. So here I am again! I have loads of new content…

Kitsch Culture – Nobody Does it Better Than Here*

    December 30, 2014 /

When it comes to kitsch – nobody does it better than the British. Things pretty quickly get so far out they’re back in style. We get to love the things we used to deride and there’s a gradual dawning consciousness amongst the bulk of the population as to exactly why we suddenly “now” like something. Kitsch isn’t something that’s easy to define, though. It’s far easier to “feel” it. So let’s take a look at a few examples of life where you can see kitsch in action still today… The most kitsch seaside resort For example, millions of people make their way to Blackpool every year. This is the king…

Lifestyle Content // Choosing the Right Colour Scheme for Your New Home*

    December 17, 2014 /

Credit Once you’ve settled on the exterior design and layout of your new home, it’s time to get started on the really exciting tasks like choosing the colour scheme for your fixtures and fittings. While it is fun to get creative, it can also be a little daunting. Below are some tips to help make sure you love the colour scheme you choose now and for years to come.  Choose a Flexible Builder Some house and land packages have set colour combinations for you to choose from. While these are usually aesthetically pleasing and may have even been developed by an interior designer, they can be fairly limiting. Make sure…

Job Seeker Tips: Understanding Psychometric Testing*

    December 16, 2014 /

There has been a shift in the recruitment and hiring industries over recent years. Now the attitude of candidates receives as much – or sometimes more – weighting as their aptitude to perform a certain role. In their quest to match people’s personality and work style to the right role and team at the right organisation, many recruiters and human resources departments like Chandler Macleod are now using a combination of psychometric testing applications, psychology based testing and interviews to assess and place candidates. Below you’ll find more information about some of the tests that you may come across while you’re searching for your next job. What Is Psychometric Testing?…
