3 Reasons Why You Should Invest in a Corner Sofa*

Is it just me, or does January feel like the perfect time to start revamping your home? Maybe it’s the sales and everything feeling like it’s a much better price than at the rest of the year, or maybe it’s the fact we’re all spending so much time in our homes due to the cold, wet weather and the long dark nights? Either way, I’ve got a feeling I’m not alone when it comes to this and this could be why there are so many house renovating sales on. From furnishings, to whole kitchens, you can’t watch even a few minutes between tv shows without being bombarded with them, and hey, if it means you can grab a bargain, who am I to complain?

There are two rooms more likely to get a face lift in the winter, the bedroom and the lounge. This is due to the fact other rooms such as the kitchen and bathroom require more manual work that is better suited to warmer weather (I don’t think anyone recommends having a kitchen fitted when it’s damp outside!) The lounge would definitely be my go to, it just feels so empty when the tree comes down. A lick of paint, new curtains and perhaps even a new sofa.

One of the most popular styles at the moment are the corner sofas and today I’m going to give you 3 reasons why you should invest in one;

It can make the room feel bigger
Having a corner sofa is a great space. If you put a corner sofa in the right space, it can make the room look bigger. This is because the two side can be pushed against the wall leaving the rest of the room open. If you have a small dark room, opt for a lighter fabric of sofa as it can really open up the room.

They come in so many different styles
When it comes to choosing a corner sofa you will find you’re not limited with choice. With the growing popularity of the corner sofa there are so many different styles and fabrics available from classic to modern. Not only that but you can pick ones that are different lengths, angles and some with detachable foot rests. You can decide if you want the corner to be for legs in a chaise style or as an extra seat. It’s not hard to find something you like.

Perfect for small families and couples
If you’re not someone who does a lot of entertaining a corner sofa could be perfect for you. A corner sofa has enough room for everyone to sit close together but still gives you your own space. Having been the mother of a clingy child, a corner sofa would have been perfect for us, we’d still be sat together and I’d still have room to stretch out. Brilliant.

So what do you think? Are corner sofas for you and your family? I definitely feel like I wanted to invest in one now!
