A Day In The Life, January 2015
As I mentioned in my resolutions post I’m hoping to make my blog much more lifestyle, travel and personal style this year as these are the subjects that appeal to me most. So with that in mind I’m starting a new monthly series inspired by Becky & Leona, A Day In The Life. Every month I’ll take photos for a whole day and share it on my blog. This month I chose a Wednesday, a typical Wednesday.
Morning. In the morning I get up and the first thing I do is make a large mug of ice coffee. It’s my one coffee of the day while I’m doing Slimming World so it’s always in one of my tall Frozen mugs. I also make LM her breakfast which she’s allowed to have in the lounge while watching morning cBeebies. After I’ve had my coffee I go and get dress before bringing down LM her clothes and she gets dressed too. On Wednesday’s we usually don’t arrive home until late so in the morning I try and prepare dinner for the evening. This week it was chili con carne. While that’s cooking I play in the lounge with Little Miss. We try and do a different activity together every morning, on this day it was play with bubbles. Once she was bored of this I popped on The Incredibles for her, set up her Little People and headed up stairs to make beds and clean the bathroom. While I make lunch LM draws a picture at her easel which is in the kitchen. Then we sit down for lunch together. After lunch I head upstairs to get read before the school run. Then we walk to nursery together.
Afternoon. After I’ve dropped LM off at nursery for three hours I walk to meet my mum from work. She doesn’t finished until 2pm so I usually pop into my favourite thrift and vintage store for either a coffee or a wander around checking out their stock. At ten to two I make my way to my mum’s work and we drive to the grocery store to do our weekly shop. Sometimes when I don’t need anything I just go to spend time alone with my mum as it doesn’t happen often. Once we’ve done our shopping we head back to her house for a hot drink and I usually check my phone messages as there is not network signal at the store. I then pick LM up before heading home. Once home I unpack the shopping while LM entertains herself, on this Wednesday it was with her Tag Junior & a book. Then I heat up dinner and we eat together in the kitchen.
NOW, normally after dinner, if LM has cleared her plate she’ll be allowed on my iPad for an hour. She likes to play cBeebies games and it means I can get washed up. But this particular Wednesday we both fell asleep on the sofa and I ended up carrying her to bed, forgetting all about my camera!
Evening. Once Little Miss is settled in bed I sometimes do a number of things.. housework, take a bath or show, blog, eBay list.. but firstly I always have a hot drink, it used to be a tea but now it’s a green tea as it’s free. Then I stuck on Sword in the Stone as I’m trying to watch all the Disney movies LM has little interest in and set up my new printer. Elsa found it very interesting! Then I did some printing of all my WDW notes which was pretty exciting. After I was done with my laptop for the night I headed up to bed to spend some time snuggling my favourite furry face before going to sleep about 11pm.
And that’s January’s Day in the Life. I wonder what I’ll be up to come February?

I love this post Amy! I have done posts like this before and always enjoy reading about other people’s days. I know what you mean about spending time with your mum – we all need some one to one time with our mums, even if it’s just while doing something fairly routine. Little Miss just looks so much like a miniature you!

This is such a great idea for a blog series, Amy. It’s really interesting to take a peek inside someone else’s life and get to know the girl behind the blog a little better.
