3 Virtual Dates to Try During Lockdown*
We’re almost a full year into the COVID-19 experience and it’s hard for everyone. Kids, families, our wonderful key workers. Plunging back into another lockdown as 2021 started has been really hard for the lot of us.
If you’re one of these people who haven’t seen their partner for a long time due to not living together, my heart goes out to you. I did long distance a few years back and would sometimes go weeks between seeing my partner. It sucks. But you can still have fun with your beau. Thankfully we live in the age of technology and this does make things a little easier.
And if you single, you can still date! Why not get signed up to a local dating website and who knows you might get connected to your soulmate while we cant leave the house? You’ll have time to really get to know someone before meeting them in person. So if you’re in Yorkshire just search for Yorkshire Dating as that’s your area and get started.
To get you started, here are three fun date ideas you can do during lock down;
Cook Together
When you first start dating someone, it’s all a learning curve. Learning what about your partner can be fun and one of my favourite things to learn about is their favourite food. Cooking can be a fun date even if you’re doing it separately in your own homes. Pick a recipe together, buy the same ingredients and have a video call while you cook together. You can even leave the video on while you eat so it’s like you’re really together. BBC food has some great recipes to try!
Watch a Concert
I’ve covered watching a movie in a past post, but I saw on someones instagram that a group of friends watched the same concert together via Zoom and pretended they were at a concert. They all dressed up, had drinks you’d find at a concert and they all danced. I thought it was really imaginative and a lot of fun. And it’s something that could work as a date too and a great way to find out the music taste of your partner. Each of you pick a concert and take your beau, that’s two date nights right there.
Play Truth or Dare
This is a fun one and a great way to get to know a new potential partner. It can be as tame or as dirty as you want it to be. Or if you’re drinking it can maybe start with tame such as TRUTH; When did you last take a bath? or DARE; Lick some chili pepper off a spoon.. all the way up to, well I’m sure you can use your imagination! It’s exciting, fun and a great way to let your guard down enough when you first start dating.
Just because you’re single and in lockdown (or even if you’re in a relationship) it doesn’t mean you can’t connect with someone and who knows where it could lead!
