    Packing for a Festival*

    July 16, 2015 /

Ahh summer, the time of trips to the beach, beer gardens and sleeping in a tent in a muddy field that comes with attending a festival. Although I’m not attending one this year in prior years I have been an avid festival goer. I used to love nothing more than the thrill of live music. Now I have my daughter to consider and throwing that kind of money on a weekend in a field isn’t something I can afford to do but it really is one of my fondest memories of my early adult life. So I’ve put together a post about packing for a festival, the old school way…

Treacle Moon Iced Strawberry Dream Review

    July 14, 2015 /

Treacle Moon and I have been good friends for about the last 4 years. When I lived with two of my friends our bathroom used to have a few different kinds of the bath & shower gel at a time because they were such good price, lasted forever and Tescos stocked them which was our nearest super market. They’re multiple use meaning they work great as bubble bath and as a shower gel. In recent years I’ve turned to Radox due to the fact being a parent is so stressful but when I was offered the chance to review one of the newer Treacle Moon bath and shower gels, I…

    Collecting Tsum Tsums*

    July 11, 2015 /

Little Miss is now at the age where she’s starting to notice and take interest in the latest crazes. Especially if they’re Disney related. If you’re a Disney fan you’ll know all too well about Tsum Tsums.. Little Disney inspired Japanese created bean toys. Yes, it’s the new version of the Beanie Babies craze.. something I know all too well having had a ridiculous amount of both TY and Disney beanies. They have been out in Japan for a while, then they spread to the States and now they’re here. They’re available in both Clintons and The Disney Store, £3 for the small ones, £10 for the medium and £20…

Tips for Saving Money Part 2 – Adapting your Lifestyle*

    July 10, 2015 /

Yesterday I posted the first in this two part series about saving money, that was about ways around the home to save money, today I’m looking at changes you can make to your lifestyle to save money. Yes, this isn’t for everyone.. at the end of the day it’s all about taking a good look at what you’d prefer to get out of life. For me the most important thing at the moment is taking my daughter on wonderful adventures, that’s my priority. If yours is going out partying every Saturday night, you won’t be able to manage to save for a Florida holiday if you’re on a low income,…

Tips for Saving Money Part 1 – Around the House*

    July 9, 2015 /

I often get asked how I fund my lifestyle as a single mother who works from home and relies on the unstable wage that comes with being self employed. In fact I’ve had some snide remarks that go alone with it, but aside from a few lucky breaks I’ve had in regards to travelling. I live on a very very strict budget and I’m always looking for ways to save money either in the now or in the long run. With the way the country is going, I’m never going to be rich, I’m probably never even going to own a house, but that doesn’t mean I want my daughter…

    Five Favourite Stand Alone Books

    July 8, 2015 /

So it’s been a while since I wrote about books. The truth is, I really haven’t been reading. Ever since I got my Netflix account all I do is watch stuff on that when I get into bed. I think it’s because at that time of night I just want to do something completely mind numbing. It’s one of the ways I’ve completely changed since becoming a parent. That and I read a lot to LM. But that doesn’t mean I don’t still adore books, because I do. I just tend to go back and read old ones as it’s not as taxing on my brain. Because of this I’ve…
