Goodbye Three

Today is Little Miss’ last day as a three year old. Tomorrow it’s her 4th birthday. To me, four seems so much older than three. Last year when she went…

Parenting Content // Vital Lessons About Animals Your Child Can’t Live Without*

    October 11, 2018 /

Animals used to be an essential part of the life of the average person until recently. But with the advent of the industrial revolution, and the move from country to city living, the role of animals diminished. Yes, we still keep pets, but that’s about it. For children, animals can remain a mystery until they are a lot older. So what do parents need to teach their children now about farm animals before they hit school? And how can they help them learn at home? Credit Animals Are Delicate, Just Like Children Most children understand at an unconscious level that animals are living, breathing beings, just like them. As such,…

5 Reasons to Move to Cardiff*

    October 11, 2018 /

Since turning 30 I’ve been thinking it’s time for a change. Maybe I should change my hair, paint the bathroom or try a new holiday routine. Or maybe I need to finally up-sticks and move. I currently live in a small town that doesn’t have much going for it and I really miss the city living on a daily basis. But deciding where to relocate to is difficult. As much as I’d love to head abroad I know it’s not realistic so I’ve been making a list of a few places that appeal. While doing my research one place popped up that i’ve never considered before, Cardiff. Of course I’d…

3 Steps to Setting Up a Limited Company*

    October 4, 2018 /

Working life is hard, isn’t it? Trying to find a job you love that you’ll happily work at for the rest of your life isn’t easy, especially in this day and age, and it’s even harder if you’re a parent and need to juggle childcare. That’s one reason I decided to go self employed, and although it isn’t easy, working for myself is probably one of the best decisions I ever made. I’m currently registered as a sole trader, this is the preference of most self employed people in the UK as it’s the most straight forward process. I don’t really have any business expenses aside from the running of…

5 Ways to Stay Safe This Winter*

    October 4, 2018 /

I cannot believe Winter is just around the corner, it feels like 5 minutes ago it was that heat wave, but that was in July, in fact we’re not closer to Christmas than we are to that heat wave. 2018 has just flown in, and with the dark nights closing in on us, the rest of the year will be over before we know it. Although I am looking forward to winter fashion, burning candles and lots of blankets, as a single person (and parent) I find I worry more about my safety during the winter months. From catching colds, icy conditions and the fact it’s dark outside from 4pm,…

Ways in Which I’m Trying to Be Healthier*

    October 3, 2018 /

I have to admit, in 2018 I have barely made any effort to have a healthy relationship with food. I have stuffed myself with cakes, chocolate, fizzy drinks, ate tons of take aways and just never batted an eyelid. But I am now officially heavier than I was at 9 months pregnant (although I underweight before falling pregnant) and I think that was the eye opener I needed. Not only am I the biggest I’ve ever been, I’m actually noticing it. I’m short with a small frame an the extra weight is taking it’s toll on my hips and back. My skin is a mess from all the sugar and…
