Choosing The Best Phone Upgrade*
So yesterday dinner time I had that harrowing moment where my phone had full battery but it went off for no reason and I couldn’t turn it back on until it had cooled off and I’d plugged it into my laptop. That was the moment I knew the end was nigh for my phone. My iPhone 5 is old now, at least 4 years old, as I smashed my new iPhone 6 and had to go back a step. My upgrade is due the end of the September and I’m really hoping my phone will at least survive until then as it’s one piece of tech I really cannot be without.
Of course after the moment had passed and I did manage to coax my phone into turning back on it got me thinking about what I’d like to upgrade my phone to! I have to admit it’s one of my favourite bi-yearly things to do, it’s the only time I really get new tech as my money is spent else where haha.
Firstly I need to decide whether or not i’m keeping my current tariff and Mobile Network Guide is great with keeping you up to date on all things mobile related. I’ve spent a good while reading their reviews section to get an idea of what I like the look of and here are my findings;
Samsung Galaxy S7 edge
My sister has this phone and I do think it’s pretty with an amazing camera, I just don’t like the operating system it’s on.. or the fact the edge design is so deadly when you have a kid. So much glass on the front that could so easily break if dropped. I do like the fact it has a high waterproof rating which is something that is handy in case Little Miss decides it needs to take a trip in the toilet (or I drop it in my coffee, i’ve came close many times)
Sony Xperia Z5
Before I got an iPhone I used to swear by Sony phones. I even quite like the new ones although again they’re on Android and i’m just not a fan. From reading the specs the camera sounds fantastic and i’ve heard from reliable sources that it does have a better battery life than the iPhone (my biggest gripe about my current phone to be honest). As for how it looks, I’m not as enamoured as I am by the Samsung S7.
iPhone SE
The most current of the iPhone family and it apparently takes all the best features of the iPhone 6 but is a more pocket friendly size. I had no issues with my iPhone 6 and I was heartbroken when it smashed. I do think the battery life and storage for the phone you do generally get is quite disappointing which is why I’m looking into other phones. I have been with Apple for the past 6 years now and I do swear by them. I think this is the safest option for me.
Lets face it, I’ll more than likely end up with the new iPhone that will come out in the Autumn because I just love the operating system and how easy it’s to use. I usually even end up waiting a few weeks after my contract has ended to ensure I’m one of the first to get it.. I really hope it comes out in rose gold…

I would definitely choose Iphone 6/6s. I have all Iphone models from the 2g till 6 and switching from my old 5c to 6 was a bit hard for me, cause it is bigger and wider, but after I have used it for a few hours I was shocked – it is really easy in use and completely fit any pocket size!
