3 Easy Ways You Can Go Green*
Being environmentally concious can seem daunting at first but it’s something we really do have to be aware of. I read something the other day that put things into perspective for me, I felt a bit “woah” after reading it. Humans have been on earth for such a short amount of time since the world was formed and we’ve already destroyed so much of our natural resources. In fact, since the industrial revolution we’ve destroyed more than ever. We need to start looking at ways to become more sustainable. Between destroying natural resources and pumping harmful chemicals into the air, no wonder Stephan Hawkin’s thinks we should be looking for…

5 Things I Have Learned During the 2017 General Election
This is my first (and perhaps only) political post on Cocktails in Teacups. The reason why I’m writing it is because this is so far the biggest election of my time and although I’ve been eligible to vote twice prior to this time, I’ve only voted once back in 2010. I didn’t vote in 2015 as I felt all the parties were similar and I was so disillusioned. However, this snap election announced in April by Prime Minister Theresa May (a PM none of the public voted for) is going to be a turning point for the UK and the policies will vastly affect the future of the country, including…

5 Reasons Why Sometimes I Take an Unscheduled Blogging Break
You may or may not have noticed that last week I only posted once. As someone who posts every single day like clock work I do often worry how my views will be affected if I don’t post, but sometimes I just need to take a break. In September I will have been blogging for 5 years, blogging at Cocktails in Teacups anyway. Prior to this blog I had a couple of others that I posted to sporadically and I certainly didn’t class myself as a blogger. I started blogging as I needed a hobby, I didn’t think it would actually stick, but here I am. My blog is now…

5 Fun Things We Did in London, May 2017
The weekend before we headed off to Disneyland Paris for a few days, Little Miss and I spent some time in London. This is the second time this year we’ve spent time in our capital city and I think LM loves it more with each visit. This time we had Saturday, Sunday and Monday there and although some of our time was spent with friends, we did have some time to please ourselves and explore. I’m hoping to head back during the summer to do some more exploring. Today I’m sharing 5 of the things we got up to during our visit this time, it seemed better than doing a…

The #DayOutForAll Campaign – Alnwick Gardens*
Being a single mother (wow I say that a lot) means I spend a lot of time with my parents and immediate family. I moved back home so I could have help while Little Miss was a baby, and I’m staying for the time being so members of my family can have her in their life. I lost both my grandfathers in short sucession and it really was a wake up call, I wanted LM to know all our family before it was too late. Of course this means we have a lot of family days out. Days out should be for all members of the family, including those with…

The Disney Store at 30
This year, while I celebrated turning 29, The Disney Store celebrated their 30th. The first store opened on March 28th 1987 in Glendale, California but it would be a few years before the first one appeared in the UK which opened in London the November of 1990. Ever since then they’ve been a fantastic treat to find in many cities across the UK, There are currently 42 stores across the UK and you can guarentee whenever LM and I are near one we’ll be popping in. The Cast Members and displays make it a magical place to be and we always get our Disney fix. As you can guess, Disney…
