5 Places to Sell Things When Money Gets Tight*
Being self employed means I don’t happen to have a steady wage coming in. Sometimes I earn better than average wage, sometimes I barely earn anything depending on the work I put in and what’s available it is. This means some months sees money being a lot tighter for LM and I. Because of this I look for other things I can do to make up any extra money I need. Like most people I have a lot of unused items lying around my house that could be put to better use by other people, and that’s why if I’m a little short on cash I usually sell things. Over…

Guest Post // Claiming Compensation as a Victim of Abuse*
As someone who has suffered Domestic Abuse at the hands of my ex I feel like it’s important to raise awareness and get all the facts for other people in the sitation I was in 5 years ago. I really hope this guest post by Gina helps women and men out there, read below how you could be entitled to compensation that could be the boost to help you feel like you are financially able to start again. Not everyone is as blessed as I was to have parents to help them out. If you’ve been abused in the past, it can be hard to overcome the physical and mental…

10 Things That Make Me Inexplicably Happy
This year has been rough. Between LM going to school full time, struggling financially and not going to Florida I’ve felt in a bit of a black hole and then I had a string of bad luck. My mental health has definitely taken a bit of a battering especially as I inch towards 30, I’m just not where I wanted to be and right now there isn’t much I can do about it. I’m just riding this year out and then fingers crossed once Florida is paid off I can look at what next. One of the things I’ve been doing is trying to focus on the things that do…

Summer 2017 in Squares
Summer officially ended for us on Wednesday when LM went back to school. I’m fairly sure actual summer ended weeks ago since the weather has been rubbish since the start of July. Typical isn’t it? As a summer round up I’m going to share some of my favourite Instagram photos from Little Miss’ summer holidays as well as a round up with what we got up to. I can’t believe 6 weeks are over already! I don’t know abou other parents but it definitely went way too fast for me! Distant Adventures At the very start of the summer holidays we headed off to visit Bee and her family. We…

Keeping Kids Entertained in the School Holidays*
If you live in England this week sees you half way through the summer holidays. Sad huh? Half the parents out there will be dreading the day they ship their precious little ones back to school (me), the other half can’t wait to watch their kids skip in and rush home to put the flags out (my sister). Unfortunately the weather just hasn’t been great this summer. Where I live it’s rained most days (yeah, I’m the idiot who left the washing out over night and it poured) and even if we do get some sun it’s just waiting to sneak attack you with more rain while you’re out having…

Why I Start Christmas Shopping in July*
Yes, you read that right. I start Christmas shopping in July. Well they don’t have a whole “Christmas in July” thing for nothing! Jokes aside, yes weeks ago I started Christmas shopping. I received an Amazon voucher and aside from my sister’s belated birthday present I used it to buy things to put away for LM’s Christmas and I have absolutely no regrets. Christmas is expensive! And this year in November I want to book our flights to Florida and make a Christmas trip out to Disneyland Paris as a last hara with our Annual Passes before they expire. I used to start in September but these days with being…
