Where Amy Ate – Zapatista, Newcastle
It’s been a while since I did a Where Amy Ate post, mainly because the only places I eat out in are Costa or Cafe Nero ha. However today I was invited down to Newcastle to meet up with Rachel, Sian & Vicki as all the ladies like good food, I knew I was going to get a decent meal in a great restaurant. We had originally planned to go to the Fat Hippo for burgers however they don’t let you book a table during the day and when we arrived it was a 20 minute wait for a table then a 40 minute wait for food! No thank you!…

Recipe No.24 Pressure Cooker Tomato & Basil Risotto*
One of my favourite things about the colder weather, is eating so much comfort food! I’m not talking about roast dinners (although I won’t say no to one of those) for me it’s soup, casseroles and my favourite, risotto. My mother could never be bothered to make risotto when I was a kid, in fact I taught myself to make it while I was at university and since it has been a staple in the older months. Plus it’s something I can guarantee Little Miss will eat. Making risotto is a lot of work, a lot of patience and stirring goes along with it. But I have finally found the…

Bye Bye Bambi – Turning the Nursery into a Toddler’s Room*
One of the reasons I have been a lot quieter than usual on the blog, and I’ve been sharing guest posts is because I have the decorating bug. It’s not the only reason, there is a reason that’s a lot more “sinister” but I’m not ready to share it on here yet. I currently have two projects on the go, my staircase and Little Miss’ bedroom. Although I’m not doing much “decorating” I am giving it a bit of an overhaul, turning it from a nursery into a bedroom fit for a two year old. It’s only half complete but I thought I’d give you all a sneak peak before…

Planning a Fun Filled Spring with a Child *
It only seems like five minutes since I was talking about my plans for the Christmas break and here we are inching ever closer to Easter. I always look forward to the school holidays despite the fact my daughter is only two, more so because my mum and best friend get time off work. Due to money being tight at the moment i’m already trying to budget for some fun activities to do with Little Miss to make Easter time seem more special, as when children are young they’re yet to understand what they are actually celebrating and besides, as i’m not religious I see Easter more as a celebration…

Shopping Spotlight – Cheap Frills
I was in two minds as to whether or not I felt like blogging today. I’ve felt rubbish all day as I started taking my tablets and all afternoon I wasn’t sure I could get my mind in order. However now that Little Miss is in bed and I’m enjoying the silence, I’ve managed to prop myself up with a blanket and some cushions and I’m feeling a bit better now that I have spent the last 20 minutes resizing some images. I REALLY want to blast the Frozen soundtrack all evening like I did yesterday but it all depends on how well my head decides to hold up! ANYWAY,…

Does A Stitch In Time Really Save Nine? *
It’s come to that time of year again where people start thinking about Halloween costumes, for me it’s been a long time since I personally had to think of my own Halloween costume. Last year I had Little Miss who was dressed as a very cute make shift pumpkin fairy, the year before I was heavily pregnant. Before that I went through a phase of following the Mean Girls “slut” rule, back then I very much had the body for it so it’s been quite a while since I dressed up for Halloween in more than a pair of animal ears from Claires. Thankfully I didn’t have to really put…
