Planning a Fun Filled Spring with a Child *

It only seems like five minutes since I was talking about my plans for the Christmas break and here we are inching ever closer to Easter. I always look forward to the school holidays despite the fact my daughter is only two, more so because my mum and best friend get time off work. Due to money being tight at the moment i’m already trying to budget for some fun activities to do with Little Miss to make Easter time seem more special, as when children are young they’re yet to understand what they are actually celebrating and besides, as i’m not religious I see Easter more as a celebration…

    Twenty Six

As some of you, or perhaps all of you, know that it was my birthday on Friday. For the last few years I’ve had fairly rubbishy birthday so this year when all my friends wanted to make plans with me I was so excited! My twenty fifth year was awful, the worst of my life, so being able to bid it farewell and hello to my new age in such a way was so nice. I ended up having four birthdays in total, or two birthday weekends. My two closest friends from university, Jess & Kariss came up from the 7th-9th and we went out for a meal on the…

A Charming Story for Mothers Day with Argento

I have no idea how I’m just sitting down to blog at this time of night! I feel exhausted but at the same time, wide awake.. and is it just me or has the temperature suddenly rocketed? I actually have my bedroom window open tonight, although I will close it before going to sleep. Today, I’m talking about my mum. Again. She crops up quite often on my blog, maybe because she’s one of the most important people in my life. In fact, I’d go as far to say that my mum is my hero. At the end of the month there is a special day to honour these heroes…

    Happy International Womens Day

I’m not sure how into this International Womens Day I really am, but I thought i’d write a quick post about the inspiring and supportive women in my life. Starting with my Nanny. My Nanny is husband to one frustrating man, mother to five children, four girls and one boy. She is grandmother to sixteen grandchildren and great grand mother to twelve. She has been a housewife all her life, marrying at seventeen. She’s suffered mental health problems, lost family, close family but through it all, she’s held our family together. Although my grandfather claims to be the head of the family, it’s really my Nanny. She gives and gives,…

    Two.

Two years ago today, at 16:20 weighing 5lbs 2oz my beautiful daughter was born 13 days early. I loved her from the moment I saw her and I love her more every day. Today really brought home how incredibly proud I am of the little girl she’s turning into. She’s smart, funny, imaginative, polite and incredibly beautiful. I love every second being her mother, even on the bad days, which are thankfully few and far between. We had a rough two years but I think it’s made our relationship stronger. I love being her mummy, she’s everything I could ever of wish for in a child.  We have had a…

It’s True Wherever You Find Love, It Feels Like Christmas

Can you believe that Christmas is over already for another year?! No.. neither can I! All that preparation and stress and it’s over in a blink. I would go back and do the whole of December again if I could. The build up was so enjoyable this year. Little Miss was at a wonderful age where she understood exactly what was going on and Christmas morning was my favourite time this year. I didn’t mind at all it being just the two of us. In fact, it made it all the more perfect. Little Miss was spoiled rotten by everyone who knows us and my friends clearly proved them know…
