Primark & Beauty Haul September 2014

    September 21, 2014 /

It’s very rare I ever do a haul post, mainly because it’s very rare I ever have a haul short of being on holiday (and even then when I went to DLP I still didn’t warrant a haul for the four items I bought!) However, due to the fact I really needed some more autumn-y clothes and that I’ve put aside some cash knowing I had this trip coming up I did manage to get my haul on yesterday while in Sunderland for the day. Sunderland is never somewhere I have ever shopped before, but due to the fact I had tickets to see The Lion King at the theatre…

Cake That! Technical Challenge – Decadent Raspberry & Chocolate Cheesecake

    September 19, 2014 /

So this is the second cake I’ve baked this week. Both I’ve been incredibly proud of, one was a 7 layer rainbow cake with chocolate icing for my nephew’s third birthday, it was a huge success however that’s not the cake I’m sharing today. Today’s cake is a cheesecake, my favourite dessert. Last month I was invited to take part in Best British Bloggers & Euphorium Bakery’s Cake That! A baking competition centered around the structure of one of my favourite tv shows The Great British Bake Off. For the final three months of this series I’d have to share three bakes.. a signature bake, a technical challenge and a…

Happy 2nd Birthday Cocktails in Teacups!

    September 17, 2014 /

So tomorrow is technically my blog’s 2nd Birthday, however I know two years ago today I made my blog, I just didn’t publish my first post until the 18th. But since I’m in the throws of decorating (not to mention I have to bake my cake for #cakethat tomorrow night) I thought i’d do a little post about i today. Lately I have become a little uninspired by my blog, I’m not sure if it’s because I’m tired or because I’ve been busy doing other things. I sit down at my laptop and I don’t want to spend hours pouring my heart and soul into a post that few will…

Five Favourite Lip Colours for Autumn

    September 15, 2014 /

LINKS REMOVED AS ITEMS NO LONGER FOR SALE Today is the first day it’s really felt like Autumn to me. I woke to thick fog that never lifted all day it made the house feel dark. There was also a definite chill in the air and it felt like I’d barely had my curtains open. My mother came breezing in at dinner time to tell me it was going to warm up again but to me, Autumn is officially here. The evenings are cold and we have blankets on our bed, not to mention you can get Pumpkin Spiced Lattes in Starbucks again (i’ll be having my first on Saturday!)…

Berwick Food & Beer Festival September 2014

    September 13, 2014 /

Usually I’m someone who is very much “Oh we did this last week” or “we did this the other day” but today I’m actually sharing a post about what I did, today! This is a rarity but as I’m still under the weather I wanted to share photographs rather than a lot of text. This weekend in my hometown, it’s my favourite festival, the Food and Beer Festival. Of course, beer & ale I can leave but they also have loads of local produce and possibly my favourite drink for the summer, strawberry cider. It’s also my dad’s favourite festival, and after today, possibly Little Miss’ too! So of course…

Outfit of the Day – Hey Mama Welcome to the Sixties

    September 11, 2014 /

JD Williams kindly got in touch and asked me to take part in their Classic or Contemporary campaign. They gave me the chance to pick a couple of items from their website that are a style from another decade that have recently come back into fashion. My first thought was the 20s, 40s or 50s as that’s the style of clothing I usually go for in my day to day however as soon as I saw the collar on the swing dress, I knew it was the one and that my outfit would be 60s inspired. Although fashion wise I’m definitely drawn mainly to the 20s and 50s, I am…
