#HolidayHeroes Competition with Ice Lolly*

I decided to do something a little different for my third day of Blogmas. Today I’m going to share with you my heroes of 2015. I usually do some kind of post towards the end of the year about the people who have played an important role over the last year, so I thought i’d combine it with the fact Ice Lolly are running a competition about #HolidayHeroes and it’s now down to the last 9! One of these wonderfully deserving people will win a holiday to Majorca! Head over to Ice Lolly’s #HolidayHeroes page now, and by voting you’ll also get £50 off your next holiday!

So, back to my heroes of 2015. I have to say 2015 has been the best and worst year of my life, and I’m blessed I’ve had so many wonderful people in my life to share it with and of course, support me through the bad times. At the end of the day, no life is complete without the people you share it with (yeah, I went there with the cliché). Anyway, here are my 2015 heroes.

Missing you Gramps
My Nanny
Back in January my Grandpa passed away January after a short illness (he only went into hospital the beginning of November). He was my Nanny’s only love, they got married when she was 17 (she’s about to turn 78 this month) and had 5 children together. He was her everything. Although I know she will never be the same again, she has held her head high and made a new life for herself. I have never ever been so proud of anyone in my life. She adopted a budgie, and she has her routine. She has a load of us around on a Saturday afternoon where she happily plays with the kids so myself, some of my aunts and cousins can all catch up. She still cares about everyone. She’s an inspiration and I’m so blessed to have her as my grandmother and as my daughter’s great grandmother. They breed women strong in our family for sure.

My Mum
Continuing on, my mum lost her father but not only that, 6 weeks earlier my dad’s dad also passed, meaning she lost her father in law too. While my Grandpa was sick, she supported my dad through loosing his, helped clear his house and host a wonderful Christmas (my Grandad died the week before Christmas last year). My mum was very very close to her dad, and it was so hard for her. But she has been my rock through this year despite it all, and she’s supported my sister through a few rough patches too. She is her mother’s daughter. So much strength and poise and she is my hero every single day. I couldn’t pick out a better mother. She is the best.

Why are there no nice photos of us together?!
My Best Friend, Bee
I completely lucked out with the best best friend ever. Many times i’ve mentioned on the blog how lucky I am to have a friend like Bee. However this year she’s my hero for a different reason. This year she started her own crafty business which I have supported from the word go because I think she is so damn creative. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing her post about how many orders she’s working through and how happy she is about it. I’m so glad she finally gets to work from home and has found something she loves. I love getting sneak peaks of what she’s working on next because she has always had the best ideas. Whenever I browse Closet Geek, I just swell up with pride and all I wish for 2016 is that her business goes from strength to strength because no one deserves it more.

Little Miss Minnie Mouse

Finally, Little Miss
Little Miss, like my mum, is my every day hero. Watching her grow this year from a toddler to a little girl ready for school next September has been truly wonderful. I took her to the US alone, twice and yeah, she had her moments but on the whole it was magic from the moment we left home. She is a blessing and she’s fast becoming my best friend. She sees the world with a kind heart and I really hope that never changes. She wants to be friends with everyone, she wants to help and love everyone. I look at her and know I did one thing right. She makes me a better person and that’s why she is my hero.
