LittleLife Finding Nemo Swimming Bag Review
I never expected our first trip to the beach to be so early on in the summer holidays. Little Miss finished pre-school on the Monday and by the Thursday we decided to spend the afternoon on the beach. It was cloudy, but the warmth we needed was there so my mum, sister, nephew, Little Miss and I headed to the local beach for an afternoon on the sands. Knowing my wannabe mermaid child well enough I made sure I was armed with a towel and her swimsuit and rightly so given 10 minutes in and she was in the sea despite the water being freezing, lets face it, the kids never feel it. Of course this was the perfect time to test run out new LittleLife Finding Nemo Swimming Bag*.
When it comes to Disney, we’re always going to be big fans which is why the Nemo Swim Bag was a huge fit with Little Miss from the word go. Despite being for children age 3+ Little Miss couldn’t carry it on her back when it had stuff in (which is why there are no photos) however she was more than happy to carry it by the handle. This is no fault with the bag, in fact it means that it can be used for a longer period of time, more because Little Miss is smaller than your average kid. The bag is completely waterproof on the top and inside, however it has a small mesh panel in the back to make it comfortable for a child to wear, just be sure this bit doesn’t get wet or it’ll feel rather soggy. There is one top loop which is great for hanging on a peg, there are two shoulder straps which are again padded for comfort. Inside the main compartment these is a place to write your child’s name too which is always handy whether you’re using it at school or on holiday.
The design itself is great, I do often find Disney items to be hit and miss these days but I feel the colours and attention to detail are excellent. Although Nemo’s head does look a little strange when he’s empty or only half full, he’s definitely made to be fully packed to give him his proper shape. He even has his lucky fin on one side if you couldn’t tell it was Nemo by his incredibly cute face.
It has one main section that’s sealed by rolling and fastening with two clips. There is also one small hidden pocket which is perfect to store a mobile phone as it’s right in the middle of the panel making it dry even when damp clothes and a towel are placed in the main compartment. The compartment expands and does look deceiving when the bag is closed but it does fit a full sized towel, a change of clothes, sun cream, sunglasses cases and even my DSLR! Although it’s marketed as a swimming bag it would make a great bag as hand luggage for your child to take on holiday.
The LittleLife Finding Nemo Swimming Bag* retails for £24.99 and is perfect for not only beach days, but school swim classes, holidays or just days at the pool. We’re actually huge fans of LittleLife having used the Clownfish Backpack with Reigns on all but our last holiday, it had been a huge hit with both Little Miss (as it looked like Nemo) from the age of two and the reigns aspect had meant while travelling alone I could always keep a hold of her. With the release of this swim bag it looks like we’re not quite saying goodbye to LittleLife yet. I’d love to give the Clownfish suitcase a try as her hand luggage for October, then I’d really feel like we’d completed the set!
The bag also comes in a cute Dory design.
