Baking Times – Trago Has You Covered*

The Great British Bake Off is back! For me, it’s a sign that Autumn is rolling in, especially now that the show starts in September rather than August. When it first started I used to bake along, usually cake but sometimes other things too. Now that LM is at school I just don’t have time to. However, I’ve noticed through social media others have taken up the mantel and are sharing a bake a week.

Personally, I’ve never really been an adventurous baker. My cakes are not the level of competitive baking so there goes my GBBO dreams. I can make something taste nice, but all too often it doesn’t look very good. I used to bake my daughter’s birthday cake, but the older she gets the more elaborate she expects her cake to be, and I have just never mastered that roll icing. So this year I think I’ll pay someone to make her cake.

However, once upon a time I did take part in a blogger baking competition called Cake That! and I ended up winning! It’s definitely one of the highlights of my blogging life, and even now I can look back and really feel proud of the three bakes I produced.

I have to admit, for the me the hardest part of baking is working out how long to actual do the baking for, in the oven I mean. Especially if I’m not following a recipe or I’m trying to create something new (which is often). Lets face it, getting the bake right is fundamental to a cake, get it wrong and you’ll have a total flop. Thankfully Trago has you covered with this fantastic infographic covering baking times for different cakes! I love that it even has the time to bake my personal favourite, cheesecake.

Are you a baker? And if yes, are you more cake, bread or biscuits?
