February Half-Term Break Ideas*
Like most parents, I am a big believer in travelling with children. Not only is seeing new places exciting and enriching for them, but holidays are also perfect for family bonding. I love taking time out to take my daughter on vacation, but sadly, money can sometimes be an issue. However, like most parents, I do try to take her away at least once or twice a year. The key to success when organising the perfect family holiday is booking in advance. This is especially true when it comes to traveling during the school holidays, as the earlier you book, the more affordable it is. In case you fancy getting…

The Perfect New Years Get Away*
As a single mother, New Year celebration has become non and void these days. My parents are at the age where they have a better social life than me and I don’t really have any other babysitting options. I’m blessed to have had one really good one though before I hit motherhood that I still think fondly of every Decemeber 31st. But instead of looking to the past, today I’m exploring future new years. Hopefully it won’t always be this way (sat on my own in the lounge sloshed on a bottle of wine and M&S take away) and that one day I’ll be able to celebrate in style once…

Travel Bucket List – 21/10/2015*
As of the 1st November, Cocktails in Teacups will be changing to a Disney Life, Parenting and Travel blog to reflect how my life has evolved. Now that my blog is three years old, I’ve changed and my life has changed so I wanted to focus on niche’s that I want to write about. No more beauty, only fashion related to Disney or child fashion, perhaps some cookery … but I’m not promising. Occasionally some content of a different sort may pop up, just to give you a heads up. In honour of the shift in emphasis on travel, today I’m sharing with you my current travel bucket list. It’s…

Cosplay for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2015*
One of the highlights of our most recent trip to Walt Disney World was that for the first time ever I got to experience Halloween at Disney, including one of the famous Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Parties. In case you’re unaware, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (or MNSSHP) is a hard ticket event over the Halloween period at Magic Kingdom. Hard ticketed means you need to buy an additional ticket to your park pass, but believe m when I say it’s worth every penny! I was so incredibly excited about it, having already watched the parade “Boo to You” 100 times before flying out but I had managed…

Why I Take My Daughter to Disney
Cocktails in Teacups will be shortly turning into a Disney, Life, Parenting and Travel blog and due to this, I wanted to address today one of the questions I’m most often asked, mainly on my twitter account Livvybirdadventures “Why do I take my 3 year old to Disney?” Technically, I don’t have to justify myself.. I usually just answer the messages politely and move on, but I really just wanted to share my reasons on my blog, so it’s on record. I understand fully that a holiday from the UK to Walt Disney World isn’t cheap. Trust me, I sit down monthly to ensure I save the right amount to…

What We Bought in Florida, September 2015
A week ago today we left our favourite place in the world once again and as of yet I haven’t decided whether or not I’ll be doing a day by day diary. So instead I’m sharing what I picked up while out there. Last time I didn’t manage to do this as I’d put everything else away before taking photos. In the end I just shared my favourite bits and nothing of what LM got. This time however I photographed everything as soon as it came out of my cased, and now I have a post for you all. Starting with what I picked up for myself; You want to…
