Why You Should Consider Cancun For Your Next Family Holiday*
A family holiday is something we can all look forward to. It’s all about that two-week break in the year that you don’t have to think about work. You can enjoy quality time with your loved ones. So picking a place that is perfect for your family unit is so important. Holidays can cost a álot of money for families. Especially as they have to go in the school holidays. It can make it a rather expensive break. So it has to tick all the boxes to make sure it is worth it. So with that in mind, I thought I would share with you a destination that is worth considering for your next family getaway. Cancun.
Where is Cancun?
Firstly, for anyone who says that geography is not their strong point, Cancun is a Mexican city in the Yucatán Peninsula. It resides in Mexico bordering the Caribbean Sea. Considering holidays in Cancun doesn’t mean that you are extravagant or flashy. But of course each to their own prerogative. But it can be a great choice for a family getaway.
When should you go?
Cancun is a year round holiday destination, getting on average 240 sun shining days a year. Which means that it gives you a few different possibilities when it comes to choosing which school holiday allowance to use. However, high season for holidays would be between December and April. Meaning that the Christmas or Easter break could be the best times to consider going. This time of year offers temperatures of around 85f. Which, let’s face it, with kids is hot enough.
Although during the British Summer the temperature still rises. It is technically hurricane season between June and October so perhaps would be best to avoid going during this time.
What type of accommodation should you consider?
Most package holiday providers offer great deals on hotel complexes. Sometimes these can be the perfect choice for families. A hotel complex can mean that everything you need to make your holiday perfect is right on your doorstep. They tend to offer restaurants on-site, bars to relax in, entertainment for the kids and plenty of pools and open spaces. However, some families are a little more adventurous. You could consider researching boutique hotels yourself or look into a self-catering option by staying in a villa. The best advice would be to look out for holiday reviews from previous holidaymakers. They will always provide an excellent insight into your chosen accommodation type.
What to do when we get there?
Of course, there are the beautiful sandy beaches to enjoy. The bright blue swimming pools, depending on where you are staying. All of which can provide you hours of distraction for the whole family. However, you may want to do something a little different. If so then you should consider attractions such as Dolphin Discovery or the underwater museum. Offering something for the whole family to enjoy. If all else fails there is the shopping.
