#37 Recipe No.2 Mexican Sweetcorn Chowder
I woke up this morning with the makings of a head cold and since it was freezing cold I knew it was the kind of day that everyone would appreciate a big warming pan of soup. When grocery shopping the other week I bought a can of creamed corn so I could make my favourite soup at some point in the future, the future being today. Mexican corn chowder has to be my favourite soup. I got the recipe from the first ever cook book I owned, a cheap little Mexican cook book from one of those Bargain Books stores. I loved it but it was ruined by some broken…

Soap & Glory Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser Review
Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser £10 @ Boots I’ve been desperate to try a hot cloth cleanser for a while now but I could only really find really cheap ones that from the ingredients list I knew would destroy my skin, or really expensive ones I knew I could never afford on a regular basis therefore I didn’t want to get used to it then not be able to buy it! Anyway my besties are huge Soap & Glory fans and while we lived together I was never really into it but after been worn down, I decided to give the brand a go. At Christmas I bought three items…

#35 The History of Love by Nicole Krauss Review
Fourteen-year-old Alma Singer is trying to find a cure for her mother’s loneliness. Believing she might discover it in an old book her mother is lovingly translating, she sets out in search of its author. Across New York an old man called Leo Gursky is trying to survive a little bit longer. He spends his days dreaming of the love lost that sixty years ago in Poland inspired him to write a book. And although he doesn’t know it yet, that book also survived: crossing oceans and generations, and changing lives. . . As much as I desperately wanted to give this book a great review, I know it’s going…

#34 Recipe No.1 Sticky Kicking Chicken (My Way)
Today it was my turn to cook dinner and since today is also the day I’ve started my diet/health kick I thought I’d attempt one of Jamie Oliver’s so called healthy recipes in his latest book 15 Minute Meals. Of course I never expected them to take 15 minutes, and since I was doing it my way I’d allow at least half an hour (but some of that is cooking time) but I can assure you the end result was delicious! Jamie Oliver being Jamie Oliver suggests serving it with a watermelon and radish salad with crunch noodles but there was many reasons I decide to forget this, the main…

#29 So Long, Farewell 2012
Source Tumblr Today is the final day of 2012, the year the world was supposed to come to an end but it didn’t. For me, like for many people I know, this has been both the best and worst year of my life and to be quite frank I’m glad to see the back of it. Although I don’t believe a new year necessarily means all past problems are evaporated as the clock strike twelve (for me personally, 2013 is going to be a very tough year with more than likely, a custody battle on the horizon) but I do think a new year is a time for reflection and…

#28 Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
So did everyone have a wonderful festive season? I did, especially since it was my daughters first Christmas! I also had the worst Christmas of my life last year so this year I was hell bent on making this year better than ever and it was! Here is a wee post about my Christmas. I’m not sure how many of my followers enjoy reading these sort of personal posts (and I apologies but there won’t be any photos of my daughter, as much as my ex makes my life miserable I respect his wishes to keep public domains free of photos of Olivia.) But I’m doing one anyway (and will…
