Things I’m Looking Forward to in Summer*
Next month will begin the first summer holidays I will be spending with LM. For the past two years she attended nursery over the summer so for 5 hours a week she was still out of my hands. However since January she has been attending pre-school 5 days a week so I will really feel it when it comes to having her at home very day for 6 weeks. Not only that but it’s also going to be the run up to our holiday so it will seriously feel like a lifetime. However, I have been making plans to entertain LM (and myself). Next week is Summer Solstice, I have…

Hair Care Tips for the Summer
LINKS REMOVED AS ITEMS NO LONGER FOR SALE I have made no secret of the fact that while I was in Florida I messed my hair up. For starters, my hair isn’t in the best of conditions due to the fact it’s now so long it requires two boxes of dye. While one usually leaves your hair lovely and glossy, the second sort of makes it feel like a birds nest. Add this will a Florida heatwave and an idiot who didn’t bring a hat and you have hay. Yes, hay. It’s taken me almost two months to resurrect my hair and for the time being I’ve returned to only…

Pommito Mocktail Recipe
We’re slowly inching to what should be the summer months, June, July and August although so far we haven’t seen much heat! However, I remain ever hopeful and it hasn’t stopped me preparing for summer as far as every day life goes. One of my favourite things about the warmer weather is the sort of food and drink us Brits tend to turn to, we swap soups and roast dinners for salads and barbeques, we tend to order more fruity cider and cocktails while out in beer gardens. Appletiser has recently released a new flavour to go along with their original “Appletiser” and “Apple and Pomegranate” this is “Apple and…

The Shopping List… Summer Travel Planning Part 2
Just a small warning, over the next 12 days, you’re probably going to get a little bombarded with holiday related posts such as what i’m taking in my bags, and of course today’s post about what I’m hoping to buy. Then while I’m away I’m hoping to keep a diary and update on the go! So be prepared. So anyway, like I mentioned above, tonight I’m sharing some of my wishlist for while I’m over there. I say some because I plan on doing a lot of Christmas shopping and some of the people I will be buying for read my blog. So what I should be saying is this…

Bonmarche Summer 2014 Swimsuit Review
The other week I was contacted by Bonmarche, they offered me the chance to review something from their current summer range. Although I’m not going abroad to somewhere where I will need to wear a swimsuit until April, I’m always on the look out for bits and pieces to put away, as the shops will still be stocked with winter wear when I’m on the hunt for shorts and t-shirts! So of course, the chance to review a swimsuit did seem inciting and after a quick browse I saw the perfect one for my first hot holiday post baby. Black Spot Print Detail Swimdress* £22, Bonmarche The lovely people at…

#181 Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside
From my front door I can see the sea. To some people this is such an amazing thing but I grew up in a village on the sea front and it did have a lot more cons than pros. For starters, it wasn’t always sunny. I live on the North East coast right next to Scotland which means even in the height of summer it’s often pretty cool, windy and we’ve even been known to have a thick covering of fog on the days the weather man claims everywhere else is enjoying the hottest day of the year! Also, the smell. That salty smell is not something you want…
