5 Date Ideas for San Diego*

No matter where in the world you live, these days there is a dating site that allows you to meet locals. San Diego is no exception. Whether you live in the area, or you’re just visiting and want to meet some interesting people, San Diego Personals have you covered. Dating in the local area means you’re not in for a shock if long distance isn’t you bag and it can lead to a healthy beginning to a blossoming relationship, which is even more important when the world is uncertain during 2020.

San Diego is a great place for a first date. Such a vibrant city with fantastic weather almost all year around you’re bound to find someone fun to do when you’re connecting with someone new. Here are 5 of my top suggestions for fantastic San Diego date spots;

Balboa Park

Known as San Diego’s epic green space, it’s the perfect place for a first date as it really has something for everyone. For the outdoorsy types you have hiking trails and cycle routes, for the foodies why not have a picnic where you both bring your favourite dishes to share? For the cultured types you have art installations and museums to visit. Or maybe you just want to take a walk, talk and get to know your date. Balboa Park is the perfect place to do this.

Gaslamp Quarter

My favourite area of Downtown San Diego is the Gaslamp Quarter. It’s a historical neighbourhood and for me, the heart of the city. It’s hustle and bustle boasts some of the best restaurants and nightlife, along with being home to celebrations such as Mardi Gras, St Patrick’s Day celebrations and Street Scene Music festival. So if you’re looking for somewhere fun to hang with your date, this is where you need to head!

Gondola Through Coronado Cays

My parents went on their honeymoon to Venice and the only thing my mum wanted to do was go in a gondola. Unfortunately money was tight and the most she got was a water taxi! But did you know San Diego also boats gondola trips through Coronado Cays? If you’re looking to impress your date this sounds like something you definitely need to check out! It would have worked for my mum!

Harbour Cruise

If small boats aren’t really your thing, what about a big boat? Still the romance that is associated with sailing in a less intimate setting. A cruise around San Diego’s famous harbour especially at sunset could still set a delightful tone for the date, without feeling a little too much if you’ve only just met. Plus it’s a great way to see the city.

San Diego Zoo

I mean, how could I not include the world famous San Diego Zoo when talking about San Diego? Seriously. And a zoo is a great date idea, take it from someone that knows! You can just walk around together, the animals being a great talking point, or you could spring for an up close and personal tour, just to make it a little more special, either way, it’s sure to be lots of fun and even more laughs. What a great ice breaker!

I think dating in San Diego sounds amazing, I can’t wait to give it a try!
