Easy King Prawn Spaghetti Recipe
This weeks recipe is one of my favourite quick easy meals, although it’s not exactly that cheap as king prawns are quite expensive, but when I made this last week I’d picked these prawns up for £1.99 as they were reduced. They were fresh and I had originally decided to freeze them but then when time wasn’t on my side I used them to rustle up a tasty, filling and very quick dinner for myself. I love king prawns so much, I love them in Chinese food, Thai food, in a creamy garlic sauce with fresh bread a la Bee, but I love them most in pasta or risotto dishes.…

#213 Recipe No.15 Noodle Soup
As everyone on this planet and out of space knows with my constant moaning, I’ve had a cold for the past week and a half. If I’d been near any university students I would be damn sure I had freshers flu because it’s been as bad and I haven’t been able to drink myself into oblivion to combat it! Instead I made soup. I know usually it’s recommended to have chicken soup when ill but I didn’t have any chicken.. so I settled for the next best thing. Noodle soup but made with chicken stock to get it that comforting taste. Yes, it probably had no medicinal properties but it…

#184 Where Amy Ate – Candy Bar, Edinburgh
It’s been a while since the last Where Amy Ate post, clearly I haven’t been eating out enough! Anyway, on Tuesday I headed up to Edinburgh with Alice to see some shows on The Fringe, we saw a slapstick show by some guys that Alice knows that perform as the Three Half Pints, it was bloody hilarious. We then went to see Britain’s Fuck All Talent which again was so damn funny. I recommend both of them if you need a good laugh while you’re up enjoying The Fringe festivities. ANYWAY, we headed up early to fit in a spot of shopping and lunch before going to see some shows.…

My Favourite Cookery Books
During my hiatus i’ve been really inspired to come up with different posts that aren’t all reviews and events. I also have a few new monthly projects starting. I’ll be retiring my The Friday Five in it’s old format in favor of a new one and I’ll be saying bye to my Weekly Wardrobe for good instead i’ll simply for outfit posts as and when I shoot them. Today I thought i’d share with you my favourite cookbooks. As you can see I have managed to collect a fair few in the nine years since I first moved out. I did originally have more.. but when I was moving…

#164 Recipe No.12 Low Calorie Chicken Satay with Noodles
A couple of weeks ago my dad booked a holiday to Greece for himself and my mum, they weren’t going to go so my mum hadn’t started her usual bikini diet early enough so she’d gotten herself a little bit panicked. Then the newspaper started promoting the 5:2 Diet, my mum collected the pamphlets and decided she was going to give it a try. I have been wanting to try it since I read Being Erica’s post about her experience with it but I didn’t think it was possible while living at my parents due to the fact everything they usually buy is full fat/full calorie. Now my mum wants…

The Great British Cupcakery Launch Night
Last week I was invited by the really lovely Sarah to a cupcakery launch night in Newcastle. I had only met her once back in April at The Body Shop event but we’d hit it off so I jumped at the chance. My mum agreed to have Little Miss to give me a night off to drink cocktails, eat cake and hang out with some girls my own age instead of being sat at home with a bottle of cider watching Revolution with my parents. The cupcakery in question is The Great British Cupcakery – Bakehouse & Parlour which is situated on Queens Street down by the Quayside in Newcastle.…
