Recipe No. 21 Chicken Wrapped in Bacon with Blue Cheese Sauce
I’m really struggling with tiredness at the moment, hence not blogging last night. I mainly napped and took a bath and I still didn’t get much sleep despite trying to relax all evening. So frustrating! So today is seemingly Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year, to be honest I thought after the morning I had I was in for a bad day (woke up to no electricity then the wheel broke on the pushchair) but after a chilled out afternoon, a fun bath time for Little Miss then my mum coming for dinner, it actually hasn’t been too bad. My mum stayed for a good two hours…

Recipe No. 20 Fresh Cream Victoria Sandwich
Due to Christmas, it’s been a while since I’ve shared a recipe on the blog so I thought I’d do one today. My all time favourite cake is a fresh cream Victoria sandwich. In my last month of pregnancy I was eating these daily, not a whole one but definitely at least half a cake a day. By that point I was in no state to attempt to make my own so I’d usually take a walk to Tesco to buy one. Late last year I decided I was going to perfect a Victoria Sandwich and after a few attempts I managed it. My recipe is a version of the…

It’s True Wherever You Find Love, It Feels Like Christmas
Can you believe that Christmas is over already for another year?! No.. neither can I! All that preparation and stress and it’s over in a blink. I would go back and do the whole of December again if I could. The build up was so enjoyable this year. Little Miss was at a wonderful age where she understood exactly what was going on and Christmas morning was my favourite time this year. I didn’t mind at all it being just the two of us. In fact, it made it all the more perfect. Little Miss was spoiled rotten by everyone who knows us and my friends clearly proved them know…

Where Amy Ate – Paris City Break Edition
WARNING; This post is very photograph & text heavy. This lovely sunny Sunday morning I’m bringing you a very special edition of Where Amy Ate, all about the places Hayley and I ate while in Paris last month. I promise this is my penultimate Paris related post (as I’m sure you’re all getting bored of hearing about it) anyway, we ate in such great places I thought I’d share them all in their own foodie related post. There are so many great places to eat while in Paris, and I’m hoping maybe this post will serve as inspiration for anyone going who doesn’t have a clue where to start when…

Recipe No.19 French Onion Soup
I decided to take a small break from my posts about Paris and share a dish I made last week when I was craving everything French (I also bought French brie & croissants!) Although I never ate it in Paris, I saw it many times on the menu in various restaurants so with the weather turning so cold, I thought I’d give it a go. I have in the past only ate in in restaurants in the UK and the recipe I adapted to suit me was one from a cook book by a British person, it was the Lisa Faulkner cookbook again, Recipes from my Mother for my Daughter,…

Recipe No.18 Homemade Katsu Chicken
The day I go for my big grocery shop always guarantees that I’ll feel more like experimenting in the kitchen. Last night of course was no exception. This is mainly because I make a list of new recipes to try and what ingredients I need to buy to make them. Topping my list for meals to make was Chicken Katsu. It’s been a while since I had my first and only chicken Katsu at Wagamamas back in May and there is the odd day when I crave it but with the nearest restaurant being well over an hour a way it’s not somewhere I can just pop to for lunch!…
