Cake That! Signature Bake – Double Chocolate Cake with Fresh Cream & Salted Caramel

    August 27, 2014 /

Currently in the US, I’ll just be checking in for my flight home *sob* so as you’ve probably guessed, this is a scheduled post I prepared before I left. I was invited by Best British Bloggers to take part in Cake That! A bakery competition with Euphorium Bakery who will be launching their new website later this month. Not one to turn down any cookery challenges, I quickly accepted. Although, the thing that really got me was the judge was none other than The Great British Bake Off winner of 2012 (my favourite year so far), John Whaite! We have three challenges, one each month until the end of The…

21st August – This Is Just Part of Growing Up, A Little Adventure, A Little Rebellion

    August 22, 2014 /

So guys, today I’m updating from a bus somewhere between New York and Washington DC. The bus has wifi and I can’t sleep so I thought i’d check in. I can’t wait to get to Manhattan and my first stop is Magnolia Bakery because I have been dreaming of their banana pudding! I have more site seeing planned today, including a trip up Top of the Rock, as well as Central Park & Times Square. Yesterday wasn’t really a site seeing day, it was a seeing friends day and hanging out. In the end I didn’t take many photos as I wanted to spend the time actually hanging out and…

20th August – There’s The Whole World at Your Feet

    August 21, 2014 /

Once again i’m up incredibly early (although it was 6am today and not 5am) i’m showered and dressed so now i’m sat at the desk in the hotel room with a bottle of Half & Half Nantucket Nectars (my new favourite drink) blogging before breakfast. In a few hours i’m meeting some friends who are coming in from West Virginia, I haven’t seen them in 5 years so we’re going to the Smithsonian, hanging out and eating Chipotle. It’ll be nice to have company after two days with none! Anyway, enough about the day that hasn’t happened yet! Yesterday was amazing! I spent the morning in Georgetown. Oh Georgetown, you…

19th August – Adventure is Out There

    August 20, 2014 /

Good morning from Washington DC! I can’t believe i’m here! Yesterday was a very long day, I was up at 7:00 and didn’t get to bed until gone 4am GMT but it was actually only 11pm here. The current time it quarter past 6 as i’m wide awake so I decided to take this chance to blog before showering and heading out for the day. Yesterday had its good and bad points. The flight itself was 45 minutes early due to a good tail wind, the food was good and I watched Anchorman 2 & Chef as well as New Girl, Two and a Half Men and Sex and the…

#FriendshipGrows, A Celebration of Friendship with Chisholm Hunter

    August 19, 2014 /

Last week I was sent this wonderful box of goodies by Chisholm Hunter as part of their #FriendshipsGrows campaign. This campaign celebrates friendships that have blossomed through blogging and the stories that go along with them. I’m very grateful I have been lucky enough to make a lot of fantastic friends through blogging who have helped me through the darkest of times. But as ever, I wanted to put my spin on this.. I wanted to talk about how blogging has helped me keep up to date with my most important friend, Bee of Journeys are my Diary. The hardest part of deciding to move back home was knowing that…

    August 2014 Birchbox, First Impressions

    August 17, 2014 /

I’m glad I’ve managed to get this post up quicker this month. My third Birchbox arrived last week and I’ve had enough time to have a try of all the products, so here are my first impressions of the contents. This months theme is Away We Go, and unfortunately, I’ll have to say I wasn’t as thrilled with my contents this month. Maybe it’s because I didn’t recognise any of the brands, or maybe it’s because the product selection just didn’t appeal. Whatever it was, only one of the products really grabbed me. But I guess that’s just the luck of the draw. The novelty of getting a beauty box…
