Things I’m Looking Forward to Doing in Disneyland Paris, April 2017

It’s finally nearly time for our second Disneyland Paris trip of the year, and this time we’re going to celebrate the 25th Anniversary in all it’s glory! I did a post like this for our January trip. This time it’s not a surprise, LM knows we’re going and she’s excited. We haven’t bothered to avoid all the spoilers and instead we’ve really enjoyed looking at photos and watching videos of all the new happenings in the parks! We’re going for three nights again and this time we’re staying off site for the first time as we have our annual passes. As we’re going to be so busy the hotel didn’t really matter (that and the prices have rocketed due to going in the Easter holidays and the 25th Anniversary) but we do have Auberge de Cendrillon booked for one of our days so LM can get her fill of princess hugs! I’m going to try and do a character meal on every one of our trips (except April as we’re only there for the day), next on the cards is Plaza Gardens in August.

ANYWAY, back to our April trip, here are the things we’re both really looking forward to;

Princess Starlit Waltz

There are two shows on the main stage at Disneyland Paris (where as there haven’t been any for us to see since our October 2015 trip!) Happy Anniversary Disneyland Paris and the Princess Starlit Waltz. I’m not sure which I’m more excited for but I’m thinking the Starlit Waltz is going to be beautiful and definitely something I want to photograph. The dresses look beautiful and I love the fact it’s based on masquerade, not to mention that ALL THE PRINCES and Aurora being the star (it’s her castle guys, she should be the star!) I’ll be making sure I see the show at least twice, if not every day we’re there from the very front row. LM is taking a few princess dresses with her this trip, it’s unlike her as they’re usually not that practical but the 25th Anniversary is a very special occasion.

Happy Anniversary Disneyland Paris

As of right now LM is more excited about Happy Anniversary Disneyland over the Princess Starlit Waltz, why? Both Peter and Max Goof (YES MAX GOOF) is in it and they’re two of her favourite characters. She’s missed seeing Peter on stage since the demise of Dream Along with Mickey last year so I’ve already lost track of how many times she’s watched the show on YouTube already. I can see we’re going to have a repeat of our first few trips to Walt Disney World, show, meet Peter, show meet Peter, parade.. she just really loves that boy. The whole show looks incredibly cute and is teaming with so many classic characters. I’m so glad DLP has got these stage shows right. No Frozen in sight.

Meet Belle in the Studios

Yes, LM is very much in Peter Pan’s pocket (and Wendy if she’s there) but her current favourite princess is Belle (this happened prior to seeing anything for the new movie by the way) and she’s meeting in the Studios where Moana met in January. Although she’s pretty upset Moana has gone back to her island, she is super excited to meet Belle, especially after her walk through Fantasyland in January. I’m sure the queue is going to be long so we’ll be going at Studio opening to make sure we are front of the queue. LM is so excited she’ll finally get to wear her Belle wig, it’s only been out the box once since Christmas!

Meet the Characters in their 25th Outfits

The Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Daisy, Pluto, Chip & Dale all have anniversary outfits that you can meet them in. Obviously over the course of the next year we want to meet them all as after the celebration is over they’ll be retired! Hopefully by one of our later trips LM will have a dress to match but for the next trip i’m torn whether to take Daisy or Mickey will her to wear during EMH!

Watch Disney Stars on Parade

The thing I’m most looking forward to during the 25th Anniversary is of course the new parade. I’m still not sold on the song, I feel like it’s too fast for a parade and a lot of it is in French, not that I think it’s a problem, it just means I can’t sing along so it never gets stuck in my head! But everything else looks amazing! From the videos it looks like the unit placement is like a backwards Festival of Fantasy. The main guys at the front and princesses in the back, where as it’s the other way around for FoF. I actually really like it heading out with the classic characters followed by the amazing steam punk unit that holds Mickey and friends. They have Mowgli on the jungle unit and a baby Simba too and then of course the Peter Pan unit which just looks insane! I love that Wendy is walking with the Lost Boys, Wendy is never on the ground so I’m super excited for that. Disneyland Paris now have their own Maleficent dragon that breathes fire and Prince Phillip is wielding his sword. I’m a little upset to see the top hat is STILL there but it seems to have become an iconic Disneyland Paris look for Phillip so I think for that reason alone can I can deal with it. And yas, Kristoff and the Beast as a Prince are in the parade for a change. But my favourite bit of all? Aurora is there dancing with Flora, Fauna and Merryweather. I cried when I saw it on the very first run. She was cut from Festival of Fantasy in favour of Frozen (yah, wtf?) and I was worried she’d not appear in DLP but there she was which is SO RIGHT as it’s her castle in the park! I cannot wait to share the photos I take!

I’ve just made myself so incredibly excited writing this list, not long to go now until we’re back in the Disney bubble, and I cannot wait!

Will you be experiencing the 25th Anniversary celebrations at Disneyland Paris this year?
