Top 5 Extracurricular Activities for Children*

    November 29, 2023 /

We all know that kids need to attend school to learn and grow! Or at least they need to have an education here in the UK! However, I’m a firm believer that children also need to do activities outside the classroom to become a well-rounded person. As a kid, my parents never really encouraged extracurricular activities. We were allowed to vegetate at home. Or hang around in bus shelters with our friends and really just do as we pleased as long as we stayed safe. My mum just wanted us to be happy. However as an adult I have very few hobbies and feel like I missed out by not…

5 Fashionable Pieces Mum’s Need in Their Wardrobe This Autumn*

    November 8, 2023 /

I remember before I became a mother telling my friend that I’d always continue to wear fashionable pieces such as skirts and dresses, even after I had my daughter. Skirts, dresses with funky tights, cute little cardigans and still accessorising to the max. That lasted about 2 years. Now I’m firmly in the mummy club of oversized tops and leggings along with practical footwear. I rarely wear make-up and I certainly don’t accessorise. I’m all about practicality now. I know it’s not the case for every single mother, there are the yummy mummies but I just haven’t the time to be like that! I’m lucky if I wash my hair…

The Life-Changing Impact of Stairlifts on the Lives of the Vulnerable*

    November 8, 2023 /

Stairlifts are assistive devices installed alongside the staircase to provide a safe and comfortable means of ascending or descending stairs. They are an essential solution for mobility issues, becoming increasingly popular not just as a convenience but as a critical component of a home for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, those with disabilities, or individuals facing mobility challenges. Here we explore how straight stairlifts can profoundly improve the quality of life for these individuals. Enhanced Personal Independence The primary advantage of a stairlift is the enhanced mobility it grants. For those who find climbing stairs difficult due to age, injury, or disability, a stairlift removes the barrier that a…

The Expense of Going to School*

    November 8, 2023 /

In England, children start school the September after they turn four. For me, it’s too young. It’s too young to be in school 5 days a week for over 6 hours a day. Not only that but it’s so much more structured from the very start in comparison to when I went but I guess in a way, my daughter needed it. When my daughter started school, I was not prepared for the sheer cost of a child in primary school. Yes, I know from experience that being in University is an expensive business, but I did not anticipate how many hidden costs there would be of a child in…

Making the Switch to a Healthy Lifestyle*

    November 7, 2023 /

When it comes to food, I’m lazy. I never used to be, I used to love cooking but since living on my own the thrill of that has gone and it’s too easy to eat at my mum’s house and when I don’t, it’s too easy to get quick food such as a takeaway or something to bung into the oven. But my clothes aren’t fitting anymore and I can’t afford new. It’s a sad situation and one only I can take action with to live a more healthy lifestyle. As I’m someone who can’t stick to a conventional diet, I’ve decided to make small changes that will hopefully help…
