Travel Content // 5 Reasons Your Next Holiday Should Be to a Health Retreat*
Credit When planning your next holiday, thoughts usually revolve around beach escapes, luxury resorts, and cultural experiences. What is usually not on the list, though, is holidaying at a health resort. Below are five reasons that is exactly where your next vacation should be. 1. To Clear Your Mind The ultimate goal for many people when they go on vacation is to clear their mind from all of life’s distractions. Health retreats allow you to do this through their secluded locations and wellbeing programs. Plus, retreats only allow a limited number of visitors at a time. Health and wellness escapes such as the Chi of Life Retreat are available all…

Grown Up Ways to Celebrate a Birthday*
As you all know, on Saturday I celebrated my twenty seventh birthday. I won’t lie, it makes me feel nervous seeing my age edge towards the big three-oh. For my thirtieth I want to spend the day dressed as a Disney princess and drink a lot of champagne. Preferably in Disneyland/world. But in the mean time, I have two more birthdays that I would like to celebrate in a more grown up way. To be honest, by all accounts, I think I managed that to an extent this year, aside from prancing around in a tulle skirt and playing Cards Against Humanity, which is an adult game but in…

Parenting Content // How To Help Your Child Sleep Better – Tips and Advice*
Credit Healthy sleep is crucial for a child’s mental and physical development. If you’re a parent however, you’ll probably know that no matter how often you try and tell this to excitable offspring, they’ll remain convinced that a proper bedtime is whenever they feel like. So how do you establish the right actions and routines to make sleep come easier? A mixture of practical advice and simple science has the answer! First off removing screens, including…

The Technology Generation*
I grew up on the brink of the technology generation. I was at school when ICT was introduced as compulsory, I was a teen when everyone started getting their first mobile phone. I remember the release of the first iPhone and what it looked like. Now I’m an adult I have an iPhone, a laptop, an iPad, a blu-ray player and a big tv. My daughter was born in the midst of the technology generation. She has had the benefits of dvds and tablets from a young age. She doesn’t have a tv in her room, and she doesn’t have her own tablet or even game system and she…

Where in the World? – Faro, Portugal*
As I mentioned in my post on Wednesday, I’m already worrying about how I’ll feel when I come back from Florida. I was born with something my grandparents fondly named “itchy feet” meaning I enjoy nothing better than travelling and exploring. As once again I am blessed to have the means to book another holiday off the bat, I’m already looking at my options. I see travelling as an investment of the mind and with that thought; I’m hoping to give Little Miss a worldly education. Saving like crazy and taking off during the school holidays when she gets older. Since I plan to have this blog a long time,…

Home Improvement Project 2015 – The Bathroom*
I’ve said a fair few times over the last few months how I’m planning on staying in this house for a number of years. With this in mind I’m slowly accepting that when I moved in, the decorating was a rush job (3 bedrooms painted with 2 coats in 1 week) and it’s time I spent some money and time on really making this place home. I did make a start last year when I decorated my hall way. I can’t describe the pride I felt when I completed it myself! This is the first house I’ve had complete creative control over and boy did that feel good. I’ve also…
