In Retrospect – Three
Little Miss turned three two weeks ago. I can’t believe two weeks has passed already, but they have been a mentally exhausting two weeks, which is why I’m only up to posting this now. Despite everything that happened, Little Miss had a perfect birthday, a birthday fit for the princess she is. There was cake, laughter and love, everything a little three year old needed. Rather than being an incredibly wordy post which is what I normally go for in celebration of my daughter being another year older, I’m going to share photos from our two days of celebrating. This year no letter, no round up of how she’s grown…

Why I’m Glad I Moved Home
Although today saw my little girl turn three, it’s actually been one of the hardest days of my life. My other grandfather will not be with us much longer, and knowing this but having to smile and put on a show for Little Miss has left me a bit of a mess now she’s in bed. I know it wasn’t just me, my mother was wonderful and put on such a brave face. I only fell apart once, reading the card from my grandparents to LM signed for the last time “Nanny & Grandpa” even just thinking about it now, breaks my heart. And although tomorrow I will be bringing…

A Day In The Life, January 2015
As I mentioned in my resolutions post I’m hoping to make my blog much more lifestyle, travel and personal style this year as these are the subjects that appeal to me most. So with that in mind I’m starting a new monthly series inspired by Becky & Leona, A Day In The Life. Every month I’ll take photos for a whole day and share it on my blog. This month I chose a Wednesday, a typical Wednesday. Morning. In the morning I get up and the first thing I do is make a large mug of ice coffee. It’s my one…

Goodbye Grandad
Those of you who follow me on Twitter or Instagram, or even read my blog regularly will know last month my Grandad passed away. It’s actually a month today and I’m only just beginning to process it all. I’m only just beginning to realise that he’s gone. To help with my grieving process I wanted to dedicate a post to him today. He was only in hospital and “ill” to us for exactly two weeks. That’s an incredibly short space of time especially in December when everyone is so busy and time seems to move much faster than usual. My dad had been worried about him for a…

2015; The Resolutions
So, I’m 12 days late to this party too but better late than never, right? Like most other people, with the turn of the year I made some resolutions. Normally I don’t really go in for the whole new year, new you stuff, but this year I was a lot more on board. 2014 was on the whole a good year (with a rubbish tail end) and I want to continue with the good stuff into this year. As Little Miss gets older I want to continue making a better and happier life for us, which means re-evaluating our situation now and then. And what better time to do…

Why My Cat is Helping My Insomnia
Last January I shared my experience with insomnia. A quick recap is that it’s something i’ve dealt with since I was thirteen and it usually raises it’s ugly head when i’m stressed or worried.. but sometimes it’s just there. I’ve always found it stressful in itself which usually gets me stuck in a loop of worried and stressed in case I can’t sleep results in being unable to sleep. It also seems to be more prominent at this time of year for reasons unknown and I do take medication for it, but sometimes it doesn’t help. And I have even tried more alternative methods to help me sleep, such as…
