    Picnicking with Primula Dips

    August 1, 2015 /

Hasn’t summer just been dreadful? However, on Friday we managed to get out for our first picnic of the year. We filled a basket and headed to The Alnwick Gardens. Although it was spitting on rain we weren’t deterred and set up camp on a big patch of grass opposite a beautiful fountain. We weren’t the only family, in fact there were a lot of young families with similar set ups, a picnic blanket and food from home. This is something we do try to do fairly often as it saves so much money and you can take home anything not eaten. This is so important when you have littlies,…

    Insta-Month July

    July 31, 2015 /

The one hot day we had in July // Started to tone my arms // The cake I made for my sister’s birthday Building a fort // July Selfie // Seeing Inside Out at the cinema Elsa cuddles // Briar Rose dress for SFCC made by Closet Geek // A new copy of an Alice in Wonderland book that I used to own as a kid.The highlights were… Is it bad I struggled to think of highlights? My sister’s birthday night out was nice, for the most part.. And I of course really enjoyed my weekend to Bee’s as per. We went to see Inside Out and I enjoyed that.…

How to Make Your Bedroom Truly Unique*

    July 28, 2015 /

Since when did our bedrooms become beige washouts? Don’t get me wrong, beige can be lovely (and so can Chinese lantern shades/IKEA desks etc.), but perhaps it’s time for something a little more exciting, and a little less run of the mill. As part of my escape from my mediocre bedroom, I’ve been looking at ways to bring some individuality and character back into my favourite place in the house. Bespoke bed Whatever style or size of your bedroom; your bed is the focus of the room, right? A custom made bed may seem a bit extravagant, but considering nearly a third of our lives are spent sleeping, why not…

Important Things I Still Need for Florida*

    July 25, 2015 /

One week from today I’ll be freaking out because I’ll be able to say “I’m going back to Florida next month!” It still feels completely crazy and it hasn’t fully sunk yet since I only came back a few months ago, but there we have it. In case you missed it, I was lucky enough to be on the receiving end of someone “paying it forward” it’s literally like having a fairy godmother grant a wish. Over the past few months I’ve worked my butt off and between myself and my friends out there I’ve managed to secure our park tickets and I’m well on my way to sorting the…

Gorgeous Grandma Day, 23rd July 2015*

    July 22, 2015 /

Tomorrow is Gorgeous Grandma Day, and although I do think all these “unofficial” celebration days are a bit silly, I’m happy to take any opportunity to praise my Nanny (my Grandmother) and my mum (Little Miss’ Grandmother), especially after the year we’ve had with loosing my Grandpa. My Nanny is one in a million. She is now the head of our family after her husband, my Grandpa passed away in January. They have been together since my Nanny was 15 and married since she was 17. They were the epitome of old school childhood sweethearts and together they had 5 children, 16 grandchildren and so far 13 great grandchildren. That’s…

Personal Style – I Woke Up Like This

    July 21, 2015 /

It’s been a while since I shared an outfit post, and even longer since I shared a post of what I typically wear on a “mummy day” (as in a day when I am solely being a parent and running after my toddler all day). Since we’re now into the school holidays every day is basically a mummy day and I didn’t realise how difficult it was to entertain a child all day. I’ve come to rely on those 3 hours a day she’s at pre-school! I’m trying to do something every single day but we’re only to day 4 and already i’m struggling to keep up with her! I…
