Outfit of the Day – Orange County Girl
As you’re aware, I’m not an Orange County girl, in fact I usually don’t like orange, but I do like terracotta or burnt orange. I’m picky like that! But anyway, I was just looking for some song lyrics with orange in when I came across this Gwen Stafani one and I just HAD to listen to her on Spotify. I love Gwen, and I love No Doubt. And so it was decided that this post would be called as such.
Glamorous Lace Skater Dress (ancient), Thrifted
Black 3/4 Length Sleeve Top £7.99, H&M
Black 3/4 Length Sleeve Top £7.99, H&M
Woodland Copse Floral Crown in Rust £15, Crown and Glory
Belt (from another dress), Primark
Black Tights £2.99, Primark
Tan Brogues (ancient), Primark
Believe Dictionary Necklace* £3.50, Miss Geekay
I don’t like these photos as much as the last outfit post ones, but then again I don’t think what I’m wearing is as flattering as that beautiful French Connection dress. However, I do love this combo. This dress was thrifted, originally by Glamorous and it came with a tacky belt that I promptly removed and cut the belt loops off. In itself, it is flattering but the weather isn’t quite warm enough to go bare armed so I always wear a black top underneath turning it into a pinafore. I have a few dresses that I do this with, that I use all year around and just layer up or down. They’re all similar styles too. I also wore brogues rather than boots for the first time all because the sun was out! And of course, no sunny day is complete without a Crown and Glory crown. This is the one that came in my Mystery Gift Box. I’ve been wondering for a while how to wear it and when I put this dress on I just KNEW I had to wear it, along with my MAC Sounds Like Noise lipstick. I really love a whimsical look. From all these outfit posts I’m guessing you’re all starting to see how I dress on a day to day basis, dresses, wavy hair and some kind of lipstick. In my opinion, fashion is what you make it, and this is my fashion.
When I came down the stairs to take these photos Little Miss said to me “OH Mummy is a princess” my day was instantly made. OF COURSE my daughter knows how to compliment me!
So the question is, do you think I can work orange?

I think darker shades of orange could suit you even better than this one, but you look lovely no matter what 🙂 xx

I’d never be able to wear orange! But it’s a pretty dress and the crown is so lovely 🙂 Also, I’m very envious of your amazing cookbook collection!

The dress run a little large in the bust area, but that is an easy fix. This dress must be part of every woman’s wardrobe it is so nice. Just perfect. I felt like a princess in it.
