A #GiftToFamily
2016, well it’s been a funny old year hasn’t it? For me it’s been both amazing and tiring. I’ve had a lot of family hardships mainly around my sister and her mental health. This is my little sister with her little boy. She’s two years, 4 months and 1 day younger than me. Growing up we did not get on, mainly because she was the baby and my mum made a lot of excuses for her. I hated being the eldest. Things changed when we hit our teenage years, she became gorgeous and I was a bit jealous and i’m fairly sure she resented me because I was the eldest.…

An Essay on Why I Don’t Like Gilmore Girls (sorry)
So this past week the internet has been a buzz with the Netflix exclusive Gilmore Girls; A Year in the Life. A four episode revival after a 9 year break. Before I start I just want to say I have watched the show and the revival, I’m not hating on a show I haven’t seen. So for that reason, here is a little back story; I didn’t watch the show in it’s hay day, I chalked it up there with things like the OC, One Tree Hill and at that time in my life I wasn’t into American teen drama because I couldn’t really relate. I was a gawky geeky…

Christmas Shopping; High Street vs Online*
Yes, one of those things that goes hand in hand with Christmas is the Christmas shopping, whether you love it or loath it the majority of us have to do it, especially if you’re a parent with kids who are depending on you to play Santa Claus. After another wrapping session last night I know I’m in the home straight and could possibly be done by the end of the week! What a comforting thought. I really do only have the pets to buy for now, but then lucky me, I have LM’s birthday in January to start thinking about. Oh well! So for those of you who haven’t even…

Health Content // How E-Cigarettes are Being Kept From Children*
On Thursday, sensible regulations on electronic cigarettes as well as other tobacco products were issued by the Food and Drug Administration. These restrictions should help to limit the addiction amongst young people to nicotine found in an electronic cigarette. The FDA reported that beginning on August 8, retailers will not be permitted to sell hookah tobacco, cigars and e-cigarettes to individuals under the age of eighteen. Those under the age of twenty six attempting to purchase these items will be required to provide photo identification. Free sample of these products will no longer be able to be given out by businesses and they will not be sold in vending machines…

5 Festive Things to Do With Your Child in the North East*
Hands up who put their tree up this weekend? I know we did! After a trip to town and seeing the decorations along with some trees in the windows of houses, Little Miss convinced me that we needed to put ours up. So with an order of pizza we spent Saturday night watching The Enchanted Christmas & Once Upon a Christmas and really decking the halls. Although I have to admit I feel less Christmassy each year until it gets closer to the day, it has helped lift my spirits a bit and the sitting room feels so cosy with all the lights on and the gingerbread candles burning. Now…
