Days Out in England – Bones Exhibition at The Great North Museum

    February 22, 2017 /

Yesterday we continued our trend of having a day away during the school holidays. During Christmas we ventured up to Edinburgh to enjoy the Christmas Market, so this time we headed south and went to Newcastle. Since our #littlediscoveries adventure last year we discovered some great new places including The Great North Museum that Little Miss really enjoyed and when I heard they had a new exhibition on I decided we should go during half term. I asked my mum if she wanted to come with my nephew as he’s really into bones and even wanted to be an archaeologist at one point! So we booked trains and exchanged some…

Things I’m Looking Forward to Doing in Disneyland Paris, January 2017

    January 10, 2017 /

What.. another Disney trip? Yes, 10 days today we’ll hopefully be less than an hour from arriving in Disneyland Paris. Due to money constraints 2017 is going to be the year of Disneyland Paris. We have no Walt Disney World trips booked (I know, I know) but right now I have 2 trips to Disneyland Paris booked and paid for and a further 2 or 3 on the cards, one hopefully with LM’s friend Bella as her family are planning on visiting from the States around about June! Thankfully aside from Bella’s family, two more of our friends will be visiting the UK during the year so we will have…

Where Amy Ate – The Botanist, Newcastle

    September 19, 2016 /

A few weeks back when we went adventuring to Newcastle, we had lunch in The Botanist on our second day. Prior to setting out I had googled “Places to Eat in Newcastle with Kids” and I came across a post by Samantha of North East Family Fun that helped me decide on The Botanist. I’d already heard some great stories about it from my non parent friends but I wasn’t sure it would be child friendly, how wrong was I? The Botanist is situated in Monument Mall and you can find the entrance opposide Waterstones. I 100% recommend you take the lift, Little Miss and I underestimated the amount of…

Our #LittleDiscoveries Adventure to Newcastle, Day Two

    September 3, 2016 /

Today I’m sharing what we got up to on our second day adventuring in Newcastle. Have you seen yesterday’s post yet? This trip was all about finding some #littlediscoveries in Newcastle with CrossCountry trains before Little Miss starts school next week. We had a fab time including an overnight stay at Sleeperz Hotel. The next morning we woke about 9am. Little Miss watched an hour of My Little Pony while I got dressed and packed. It was great being able to leave our bags at reception so we didn’t have to cart them around Newcastle. The staff were so friendly and we had tickets to ensure we got the right…

Our #LittleDiscoveries Adventure to Newcastle, Day One

    September 2, 2016 /

Next week Little Miss starts school full time. Real compulsory education. I can’t believe our summer is over and on Wednesday she’ll be putting on her uniform for the first time and walking through the doors of her primary school. She’s so ready. She’s smart, social and ready to learn. However, on the other hand, I’m pretty much falling apart the closer it gets. I have to admit people who don’t have children are struggling to understand how I’m feeling. For the last 3 & a half years, Little Miss has been my lifeline. Days I’ve struggled to get out of bed, she’s been there for me to fully focus…

4 Ways to Relive Your Holiday*

    April 16, 2016 /

On Monday I’ll have been back from Florida for two weeks and already it feels like a lifetime ago. It’s funny how easily that happens with a holiday. Being away for 4 weeks really shows that it doesn’t matter how long you go for, you still have to come back to reality, usually with a pretty big bump. So today I’m blogging about 5 ways you can relieve your holiday. Of course I don’t recommend doing all of these as soon as you get back as you may end up curled up on your bed sobbing that you aren’t back in the sunshine and everything sucks at home (I did…
