Ho Ho Homicide – A Christmas Murder Mystery
So normal people have nights out in all their glitz and glam for Christmas, the friendship group I’m part of like to get together and dress up. I much prefer this. Everyone (should) reaches an age where going out and getting plastered at Christmas doesn’t appeal anymore, my little sister reached it on Boxing Day where she lasted 10 minutes in the nightclub before heading home to her boyfriend and puppy, and even though everyone drinks at these gatherings (and sometimes I get a bit silly after a bottle of wine and make a fool of myself still) it’s not to the extent of days gone by. Last Saturday I…

MoneySupermarket’s Charcoal Challenge aka My Housewarming Barbeque
So what customarily follows a stressful house move? The housewarming of course! I was lucky enough to be able to combine this with MoneySupermarket’s Charcoal Challenge. I was overjoyed to be able to take part in this as I had missed out on the Big Night In competition last month. I decided that I’d use this housewarming as a brilliant excuse to drag my favourite blogging friends up from their comfort zone in the Newcastle/Sunderland area, to check out my new home and to finally meet Little Miss as they’d heard so much about her. I had decided on a simple, yet very summery menu. Homemade burgers, chicken strips &…

#151 #YOLO Upon a Time
Last week was my best friend Bee‘s birthday. It’s become some what of a tradition to celebrate a birthday by having a murder mystery party, the last one was back in March for Bee’s partner Chris, it was an Alice in Wonderland themed one which I enjoyed so much and even blogged about it here. This time around the theme was fairytales, something that is deeply rooted in our friendship so I have been quiet possibly excited about this as much as the birthday girl. Something that was different this time though was the fact that Bee & her brother Chris (we know a LOT of Chris’) took it…

Nottingham Bloggers Meet – The Day, Meal & The Infamous Goody Bags
This is the first of three posts about the Nottingham Blogger Meet that I attended on Saturday 13th April. I’m going to do a second one for my shopping haul (weeks of saving paid off!) and one for the Kiehls visit. It was a fantastic experience, my first ever blogger meet (although since blogging I have met quite a few bloggers through events and through chatting on twitter) so much fun! I feel incredibly lucky that I heard about it and managed to go along because I was in the area. My shoulders and feet still hurt from all the shopping, not to mention how tired I am despite the…

#80 Twenty Five, My Silver Jubilee
Today is my twenty fifth birthday. If I didn’t have Little Miss I would not feel twenty five in anyway, but since I have the responsibility of being a mother, I do feel that I could be that old. Even though my mum has joked all day it’s my Silver Jubilee, I haven’t done anything special.. I didn’t get parades or a ride down the river in a boat. Nope. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t had a good day, because I have, it’s been a really nice day. I mean I would of liked to have seen one or all of my friends. I would of liked to have…

#66 Wish You Were Here – Lincoln in February
I worked out the other day, I have spent one fifth of my life living in Lincoln. I love the place and it would of been a lovely place to raise my daughter had things worked out differently. However I’m now lucky that every couple of months I get to go back and visit friends, i’m lucky that I get to “holiday” so often in such a great place. On Friday I took the train down for some premature birthday celebrations with my two ex housemates. I had a wonderful weekend filled with a lot of food, a lot of alcohol and a lot of shopping. The weather wasn’t great,…
