Kiehl’s Super Multi-Corrective Cream Review
I am so tired tonight as I really struggled to sleep last night for one reason or another, but as usual I still felt the need to blog. I don’t know how many of you saw my Biotherm Blue Therapy Serum-In-Oil review the other day, but I mentioned that it wasn’t solely responsible for my skins dramatic improvement and by dramatic improvement I don’t mean spots, I mean the fact I no longer look like a member of the cast of The Walking Dead. Tonight I’m reviewing the other product that I now can no longer live without, Kiehl’s Super Multi-Corrective cream*
Since my Kiehl’s skincare consultation at the Nottingham meet back in April I’ve been so impressed by their products and their customer service. I swear by their Ultra Facial Toner which I use daily and the Actively Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream which I used right over the summer in the place of foundation, so when I was asked if I’d like to review their new Super Multi-Corrective cream I was really excited. I first saw this product featured in Fabulous, that magazine that comes free with the Sunday Sun. The journalist claimed this cream had improved their skin in two weeks.. TWO WEEKS! As I mentioned in my post about Biotherm’s Blue Therapy, I’ve been on the hunt for anti aging products that give good results since I had my daughter and for a long time I was really disappointed with what I was using. Kiehl’s Super Multi-Corrective cream is a whole new kettle of fish.. after a month of trialing it I felt I had to share my thoughts with you.
Kiehl’s Super Multi-Corrective Cream RRP £48 * (Sorry for the scratches on the jar, it was in my handbag on a trip to Edinburgh after I collect it from the Post Office) |
First, lets talk about the obvious elephant in the room, the price. £48 for a 50ml jar of face cream, at first I was astonished. I’m the girl who up until recently used ONLY a tube of £5.99 moisturiser for fear that anything else will give me the look of someone who’s chemical peel had recently gone wrong. But for once, I genuinely do not think this is over priced, in fact once my jar has run out, I will be saving up to replace it. The effects are that good. Yes, in hindsight, almost £50 is a lot of money for something you rub into your skin, but please believe me for when I say it’s worth it.
So here is what Kiehl’s have to say about their product;
“Kiehl’s Super Multi-Corrective Cream, enriched with Jasmonic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid and Beech Tree Extract, corrects the appearance of key visible signs of aging: wrinkles appear smoother; skin feels firmer as if lifted; skin texture looks refined.” – source
And what do I think? I don’t know much about the science behind it, I would of thought acid of any kind would be bad for your skin, but my skin texture looks so refined that I can get away without make up most days, the wrinkles under my eyes have definitely improved as have the dark circles. My skin looks healthier and definitely looks more of the same colour all over rather than a washed out rainbow. It’s working and it’s working well.
The cream itself is so light and such a small amount covers a large area. After a month i’ve barely scraped the top and I use this every other day at least (I use a specially formulated dry skin moisturiser if I have a shower in the morning). The more I use higher end products the more i’m realising that a little bit goes a long way and lasts much longer than a drug store counter part. Don’t get me wrong, I still adore my L’Oreal Micellar water and Soap & Glory cleanser, i’m not becoming a total product snob, but this moisturiser is already out lasting my £5.99 tube at least 6 times over which when you do the maths, makes this seem much more pocket friendly!
It does have a slightly perfumed smell which I’m not 100% keen on but it doesn’t linger on my face once it’s been applied so I can live with it. It is absorbed by my skin almost instantly making applying make up over it really easy and it isn’t greasy at all which again is an important factor to me when it comes to face creams.
Over all, I 100% recommend this face cream! I haven’t seen negative reviews on it anywhere yet so I’m definitely not the only one who thinks this is the Holy Grail in anti aging creams. It makes me feel more confident going about without any make up on which is the biggest bonus of all as most days I don’t have time to put on make up, even if I wanted to.
Have you tried any products from Kiehl’s? What would you recommend?
