Days Out in England – KidZania, London
Since we have no big holiday booked this year I’m trying to make 2017 the year of mini adventures. So far we’ve been to Disneyland Paris and last month we went to visit my best friend Bee which included a trip to the cinema to see Beauty and the Beast. I know for a lot of people that isn’t really an adventure but our local cinema isn’t even SHOWING the movie yet so for us going to a cinema to see a newly released movie is a big adventure. This past weekend we ventured to London for the first time (the only time LM has ever been to London is…

Days Out in England – Bones Exhibition at The Great North Museum
Yesterday we continued our trend of having a day away during the school holidays. During Christmas we ventured up to Edinburgh to enjoy the Christmas Market, so this time we headed south and went to Newcastle. Since our #littlediscoveries adventure last year we discovered some great new places including The Great North Museum that Little Miss really enjoyed and when I heard they had a new exhibition on I decided we should go during half term. I asked my mum if she wanted to come with my nephew as he’s really into bones and even wanted to be an archaeologist at one point! So we booked trains and exchanged some…

Our #LittleDiscoveries Adventure to Newcastle, Day Two
Today I’m sharing what we got up to on our second day adventuring in Newcastle. Have you seen yesterday’s post yet? This trip was all about finding some #littlediscoveries in Newcastle with CrossCountry trains before Little Miss starts school next week. We had a fab time including an overnight stay at Sleeperz Hotel. The next morning we woke about 9am. Little Miss watched an hour of My Little Pony while I got dressed and packed. It was great being able to leave our bags at reception so we didn’t have to cart them around Newcastle. The staff were so friendly and we had tickets to ensure we got the right…

Our #LittleDiscoveries Adventure to Newcastle, Day One
Next week Little Miss starts school full time. Real compulsory education. I can’t believe our summer is over and on Wednesday she’ll be putting on her uniform for the first time and walking through the doors of her primary school. She’s so ready. She’s smart, social and ready to learn. However, on the other hand, I’m pretty much falling apart the closer it gets. I have to admit people who don’t have children are struggling to understand how I’m feeling. For the last 3 & a half years, Little Miss has been my lifeline. Days I’ve struggled to get out of bed, she’s been there for me to fully focus…

26th August – To Infinity and Beyond
I feel bloody terrible for leaving my last Travel Diary entry this long! It’s been nearly two months since I first headed east to my favourite place in the world and my diary entries have been sporadic to say the least. However tonight after a pint of iced coffee and a bath I am ready to recount my last day. It’s heartbreaking to put this to bed as I have most definitely had the blues since I came back despite having a holiday already booked for 6 months time! There was such a huge build up to this, that I have felt so flat and seriously home-sick for all things…

25th August – If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It
Originally this was going to be the last post from my trip, however once I started editing the photos I realised there was going to be way too many in one post. So this is actually the penultimate Travel Diaries post. On the Monday Namu, her friend Darian (a girl I’ve met once before) and I had booked to take a bus trip up to Niagara Falls. When I was looking into going I didn’t actually realise that it’s actually an 8 hour drive, yet still in the same state as New York City! That really shows you just how vast the country is when one state is the size…
