10 Things That Make Me Inexplicably Happy

    September 16, 2017 /

This year has been rough. Between LM going to school full time, struggling financially and not going to Florida I’ve felt in a bit of a black hole and then I had a string of bad luck. My mental health has definitely taken a bit of a battering especially as I inch towards 30, I’m just not where I wanted to be and right now there isn’t much I can do about it. I’m just riding this year out and then fingers crossed once Florida is paid off I can look at what next. One of the things I’ve been doing is trying to focus on the things that do…

    #RoaldDahlDay Veruca Salt Cosplay

    September 15, 2017 /

On Wednesday it was Roald Dahl Day. What’s Roald Dahl Day? 13th September would have been the famed authors birthday and each year it’s celebrated as Roald Dahl Day, and this year would have been is 100th birthday making it extra special. Little Miss’ school celebrated a day late (as they all have PE on a Wednesday) but the children and teachers were all dressed up as characters from the books. My cousin is working there as a teacher and was dressed as Matilda, and her head teacher was dressed as Fantastic Mr Fox (although I think it was a missed opportunity for her to be Ms Trunchbull). Of course,…

Samsonite Frozen Nordic Summer Duffel Bag Review

    September 13, 2017 /

If you’re someone who likes to get away as much as possible like me, you’ll know there is nothing better than good luggage. Samsonite is a name you’d associate with good luggage, right? Our main short haul suitcase is this beautiful Minnie Mouse case by Samsonite that I absolutely adore and it’s made travelling to and from Disneyland Paris so much easier. This week we added another piece of Samsonite Disney luggage to our collection, this time in the form of Frozen. You know me, I’m pretty much over Frozen, LM on the other hand is not. She still loves Anna, the songs and loves when she sees Kristoff in…

    Summer 2017 in Squares

    September 9, 2017 /

Summer officially ended for us on Wednesday when LM went back to school. I’m fairly sure actual summer ended weeks ago since the weather has been rubbish since the start of July. Typical isn’t it? As a summer round up I’m going to share some of my favourite Instagram photos from Little Miss’ summer holidays as well as a round up with what we got up to. I can’t believe 6 weeks are over already! I don’t know abou other parents but it definitely went way too fast for me! Distant Adventures At the very start of the summer holidays we headed off to visit Bee and her family. We…

Where in the World? – La Dimora dei Cherubini, Florence*

    September 7, 2017 /

Over the last 5 years I’ve done many a Wanderlust Wishlist and Italy always stays in the top two places I want to visit. One of the places in Italy I really want to visit, along with Rome and Venice is, Florence. If I’m planning a trip to Florence I want to stay somewhere that represents the beauty of the area, just like La Dimora dei Cherubini. This luxurious B&B is in the heart of the city close to the Santa Maria Novella train station with a beautiful view of the cathedral. Or why not try the sister B&B, La Dimora del Centroa few steps from the Donatello’s Column of…

    Back to School

    September 6, 2017 /

Tomorrow it’ll be a year to the day since Little Miss started Primary School. Today we walked hand in hand back to school for her to start Year 1. Summer went two fast, for both of us. We love being together, just the two of us and every day we grow even closer than I ever thought possible. Even though you’re no longer the youngest year at school, you still looked so small as you stood in line with all your peers. Maybe it’s the uniform that I deliberately bought to last the year, or maybe it’s the genetics on my mum’s side that means you’ll always be on the…
