Plus, the media perception of women doesn’t help the cause. As a woman, you want to feel great about yourself on a regular basis. If you have self-esteem issues when it comes to your body, you will find this a difficult goal to achieve. So, what are you supposed to do to regain your confidence? Tell Yourself What You Like About Your Body
Women with body issues tend to focus on the negatives. They see something they don’t like in the mirror, and they analyse it to death. Obviously, that is going to make you feel worse. In fact, it would make the most beautiful and sought-after women in the world a little nervous. Instead, you should be focusing on the positives. What is it that you like about your body? Do you like your hips, your bum or your legs? Whatever it is, you should focus on that so that you understand that your features are attractive as anyone else’s. And, everyone has attractive features, so don’t claim that you haven’t. if you can’t find them, just look harder!

Look In The Mirror Differently
When you feel completely comfortable about your body, you won’t notice any of your features. You won’t even think about the positives. What you will think about is your body as a whole. You will see your reflection and instantly smile or feel a sense of happiness. That isn’t because you think you are the most beautiful woman in the world – it’s because you are happy. Women that are happy tend not to bother with the mundane process of self-judgement. To get to this point, you need to look in the mirror differently. You should try and retrain your brain to think positively instead of negatively. Then, the good emotions will flood your brain rather than the bad ones. A trick some people use is to put notes on the bathroom mirror. These will remind you that you are awesome!

Forget About What The Media Says
It is easy to get lost in all of the body hype thanks to the media. The next time you look at a paper or magazine, you will notice how the media portrays women. You will notice how they degrade women that don’t have the ‘necessary assets’ and praise the ones that do. In short, you will notice the judgemental nature of the media. In all honesty, there isn’t much you can do about this machine. They will keep doing what they are doing because it sells. But, what you can do is not let it affect your life. Okay, she might have a great bum or fantastic lips, but that doesn’t matter. You know that there is more to a woman that her ‘assets’ even if the media doesn’t yet.

Stop Craving Other People’s Features
One of the most dangerous ways you can affect your body image is by craving what you don’t have. Again, this is down to the portrayal of women in the media and the wider society. And, it can escalate out of control. It is important to remember that you don’t have what other women have, and that is okay. Everyone is different, and everyone is going to have different features. That is what makes us unique as individuals. Instead of craving what you don’t have, you should accept that isn’t something you possess. Women can go to great limits to obtain features that they think they need, and it is a traumatic experience. Please don’t put yourself through it because it is a waste of money and energy in most cases.

Make A Change
However, you might not feel better about your body until you make a change.  Some women just can’t get out of their heads, so the psychological tactics don’t work. This is where you have to make an important decision. Do you want to make a change and it is necessary? If you think the answer to these questions is yes, you can consider going under the knife. Take your boobs as an example. There is nothing you can do to make them bigger or smaller naturally. If you want to make a change, you will need to look into surgery. And, with this great info from Dr David Halpern, you don’t have to worry about the procedure. But, it is worth pointing out that surgery should be a last resort because there are risks. And, no one wants to put their body at risk because of their body issues.

Or Not
It is possible to feel better about your bod without going under the knife. Indeed, it is possible without making any changes whatsoever. There is research to suggest that people that exercise are just as likely to feel better about their bodies. But, they don’t have to hit any weight or fitness goals for this to happen. That means that you just have to exercise more to feel good about your body. The reason is due to the release of hormones in your brain. These hormones have a big effect on your mood because they affect your emotions. So, the more you exercise, the happier you will feel. The great news is that you don’t even have to lose weight! Just focus on being more active and you will feel ten times better.

Think About Something Else
A great way to improve your body image is to treat it as an addiction. When you are addicted to something, you need to shake the habit. To do that, you need to forget about it and concentrate on something else. That is what you should do with your body. Okay, it isn’t easy to forget about your body because it is always with you. Still, you don’t have to look in the mirror every ten seconds. Avoiding a mirror is a good way to forget that your flaws even exist. Alternatively, you can fill your days with more important issues. Women that work and have a social life don’t tend to worry about their body as much. The simple reason is that they don’t have the time as they are too busy to focus on their insecurities. Instead, they are just focusing on having a good time.

Be Grateful
At the end of the day, there is always someone less fortunate. Although it isn’t a nice thought, it does put your issues into perspective. Sure, you worry about how you look, but some women worry for their lives. What scenario would you prefer? Of course, you would take your situation when you understand the alternative. Only when you realise that your life is pretty good will you start to feel better. There are people in the world that would kill for your life and body, and that is worth remembering.

Understand Your Body
Your body is yours alone, and you’re the only one that understands what it wants and needs. There isn’t a person on the planet that can tell you that you are doing something wrong with your body. After all, they don’t understand how it feels and reacts to certain stimuli. They don’t experience what you experience, and that is the key when it comes to your body image. The truth is that you might not look like the women in the magazines. But, you might also know that you will never look like that in a million years. And, that is fine because you are still healthy and sexy in equal measure. The trick is to think of yourself as a boxer. Like a boxer, you have a ‘fighting weight’, the weight in which you feel most comfortable. As long as you are at that weight, you are perfectly fine. Too many women give themselves unattainable goals, and that leads to more issues and anxiety.

Image Versus Enjoyment
Finally, think about what your body image and your enjoyment of life. It is possible to have a body to die for, but you might not enjoy your life. If you hate eating healthy every day of the week, a constant diet isn’t for you. Yes, you might look better than you have done in your life. Still, it isn’t a life worth leading. A good lifestyle is one that is healthy and enjoyable in equal measure. Please don’t sacrifice your happiness for their sake of your image. Instead, tell yourself that you want to enjoy life. It is amazing what perspective can do for your confidence.

Your body image is a major part of your life, but it doesn’t have to be anymore.
