#61 Recipe No.6 Tarte Flambée
I hate Saturdays, I think I must be the only one who does (please speak up if you hate it too!) In fact I just really dislike weekends. Our little house isn’t big enough to fit all these people in at the weekend and we are all constantly on top of one another. Sometimes, it’s lovely. We’re planning on all going out for dinner for Mothers Day as there are three mothers in our house and none of us want to cook, so I’m sure that’ll be a nice weekend (I’m also meeting a friend in the city on the Saturday AND it’s a week before my birthday).. so I…

#50 Recipe No.5 Oeufs en Cocotte (Eggs in Pots)
Wow.. this is my 50th blog post! I’m pretty impressed at that, and proud. I am thoroughly enjoying keeping this up, so much so I plan on updating every day for the whole of February! I figured since it’s the shortest month of the year, I’d give it a go. Shouldn’t be too difficult as I have loads of blog posts planned and I finally know how to schedule them! My weekend has been hectic and stressful (seems to be the way with my life at the moment) but tomorrow night my mum, sister & I have a girly night planned and we are finally going to watch Brave! Can’t…

#47 Recipe No.4 Cheats Carbonara
My mother was making stovies tonight with corn beef.. I hate both stovies and corn beef (not to mention I’m back on my diet) so she suggested I make my own tea. Having not an awful lot to work with (as I missed the shopping trip yesterday) I decided on an altered version of my cheat carbonara, using yellow peppers instead of the usual mushrooms, as of course my mother didn’t buy mushrooms. It’s not one of my best recipes (or photography for that matter) but it’s so fast, so cheap, healthy and tasty, come on what more do you want? I ate this a lot when I was saving…

#38 Recipe No.3 Prawn Noodle Bowls
So, tomorrow is my first weigh in after dieting for a week. I have no idea what i’ll have lost since my dad insisted on a massive Indian take-away at the weekend, however my mum and sister have insisted all week i’ve lost weight but to be perfectly honest I think they’re bored already of my intense calorie counting and weight watching. In my view, if you’re going to do it, do it right not half arsed. Tonight it was my turn to cook again because my mum was out with my sister, I decided to do a variation of something else I saw in Jamie’s 15 Minute Meals, but…

#37 Recipe No.2 Mexican Sweetcorn Chowder
I woke up this morning with the makings of a head cold and since it was freezing cold I knew it was the kind of day that everyone would appreciate a big warming pan of soup. When grocery shopping the other week I bought a can of creamed corn so I could make my favourite soup at some point in the future, the future being today. Mexican corn chowder has to be my favourite soup. I got the recipe from the first ever cook book I owned, a cheap little Mexican cook book from one of those Bargain Books stores. I loved it but it was ruined by some broken…

#34 Recipe No.1 Sticky Kicking Chicken (My Way)
Today it was my turn to cook dinner and since today is also the day I’ve started my diet/health kick I thought I’d attempt one of Jamie Oliver’s so called healthy recipes in his latest book 15 Minute Meals. Of course I never expected them to take 15 minutes, and since I was doing it my way I’d allow at least half an hour (but some of that is cooking time) but I can assure you the end result was delicious! Jamie Oliver being Jamie Oliver suggests serving it with a watermelon and radish salad with crunch noodles but there was many reasons I decide to forget this, the main…
