#210 Recipe No.16 Cinnamon and Honey Figs
Firstly, let me just say that this recipe isn’t so much a recipe but more of an ingredient inspiration. Recently Sarah of Lovely Strumpet has been posting the most scrummy looking meals on her instagram, a lot of them containing figs, which is a fruit I have to admit has never ever appealed to me. I don’t even like fig rolls! However, Sarah convinced me that they do in face taste good, both in sweet and savoury dishes. So when I saw them on offer in Aldi for 79p for four, I thought, what the heck? And I bought them. At first I didn’t know what to do with them,…

#213 Recipe No.15 Noodle Soup
As everyone on this planet and out of space knows with my constant moaning, I’ve had a cold for the past week and a half. If I’d been near any university students I would be damn sure I had freshers flu because it’s been as bad and I haven’t been able to drink myself into oblivion to combat it! Instead I made soup. I know usually it’s recommended to have chicken soup when ill but I didn’t have any chicken.. so I settled for the next best thing. Noodle soup but made with chicken stock to get it that comforting taste. Yes, it probably had no medicinal properties but it…

#164 Recipe No.12 Low Calorie Chicken Satay with Noodles
A couple of weeks ago my dad booked a holiday to Greece for himself and my mum, they weren’t going to go so my mum hadn’t started her usual bikini diet early enough so she’d gotten herself a little bit panicked. Then the newspaper started promoting the 5:2 Diet, my mum collected the pamphlets and decided she was going to give it a try. I have been wanting to try it since I read Being Erica’s post about her experience with it but I didn’t think it was possible while living at my parents due to the fact everything they usually buy is full fat/full calorie. Now my mum wants…

#153 Recipe No.11 Potato Salad with Bacon
So my bestie Bee and our friend group have a theory, actually it’s become more of a life philosophy, that everything is better with bacon. I decided to test this theory by taking one of my summer favourites (I can eat this by the bowl full with a glass of white wine on the side) and topping it with some smoked bacon. Like with the salad I posted last month, I don’t really claim this to be a recipe that takes great skill, but damn it is good. If I make potato salad it’s usually to go with barbeque food or even simply just chicken skewers done on the grill,…

Tortilla Pizza Recipe
I’m so tired at the moment! My mum has been ill with stress for a few days so I haven’t had any time to catch up on the sleep as Little Miss has taken all her naps in our room instead of my mum’s; meaning I haven’t been able to go back for a nap. I know an extra hour doesn’t seem like much to anyone but when your baby is up a few times a night because she is teething, an hour is a like a celestial gift! Today I don’t even think I pulled a brush through my hair! Such is the life of a mother. Due to…

#67 Recipe No.7 Mac & Cheese
This was going to be a scheduled post while I was away at the weekend however I didn’t get it done before I left so I bring it to you now. For me, macaroni cheese is the ultimate comfort food. It reminds me of time I’ve spent in New York as it was often a go to dish for me however last week was the first time I’d made it from scratch myself. Usually if I do make it, I get the four cheese sauce and just stick it on the dry macaroni before putting it in the oven. It’s good but not exactly satisfying. I got this recipe once…
