5 Reasons Why The “Home Team” Is Important*
I consider myself to be very lucky in that I come from a large, close knit family. Not particularly my immediate family which currently stands at six, my parents, my sister, my nephew, myself and my daughter, but our extended family. My mother was one of five, and I’m close to my three aunts and my grandmother, I also still live in the same town as all but four of my sixteen cousins so we see each other quite often. Although like all families, there have been ups and downs, fallings out and blow ups over the years, on the whole, we all keep up to date on each other…

However, New Year is a time for new beginnings, so why not make an early resolution to make this a green Christmas? And where better to start than with the centrepiece of your yuletide celebrations, the tree itself? Credit The Great Christmas Tree Debate It’s the question that divides families – real or artificial? Even from an ecological perspective, the answer is not clear cut (no pun intended). The worst thing you can do is buy a cut tree that will shed needles in your living room and then be thrown away. However, if an artificial tree just…

Life After a PCOS Diagnosis*
It’s funny how you look at people and unless you really know them, you don’t know what is actually going on in their lives. And sometimes even if you know someone, you don’t know everything. This is a bit like me and PCOS. Mainly because I’m still struggling to come to terms with it, but also because I don’t like people pitying me. Nature’s Best looks at Polycystic Overy Syndrom, PCOS for short, and it’s a condition that affects how the ovaries work. And I’ve found out over the last year, it’s fairly common. Most women are diagnosed in their teens or early twenties but I didn’t have any serious…

Ways in Which I’m Trying to Be Healthier*
I have to admit, in 2018 I have barely made any effort to have a healthy relationship with food. I have stuffed myself with cakes, chocolate, fizzy drinks, ate tons of take aways and just never batted an eyelid. But I am now officially heavier than I was at 9 months pregnant (although I underweight before falling pregnant) and I think that was the eye opener I needed. Not only am I the biggest I’ve ever been, I’m actually noticing it. I’m short with a small frame an the extra weight is taking it’s toll on my hips and back. My skin is a mess from all the sugar and…
