What Colours Do I Favour in my Own Home?
A favourite colour is a rather personal thing, don’t you think? Just like a favourite food or place. It can be different with every person. And the same goes for colours that people decorate their homes with. When I was a kid my bedroom was bright yellow as that was my mum’s favourite colour and she did the decorating. When I think about yellow I think about my mum, she’s bright and warm and sees the good in everybody. Even now there are elements of yellow scattered throughout her room. But my sister’s home is all white and grey with the exception of my nephew’s room. Even her cat matches…

What We Did for Summer 2018
This week summer officially ends for me, as Little Miss goes back to school. It’s not the weather, or the light nights, days at the beach or barbecues that define summer for me, it’s having LM off for six whole weeks. At time they feel like they stretch for years, but then it’s over in the blink of an eye and I wonder why I was so worried about them. This was the first summer I truly struggled. I’d always heard mothers in the school yard saying how difficult summer was, filling the long days on little budget but I wasn’t one of those. I love having LM at home,…

How My Parents are Preparing for Their Future*
In March, I turned 30. To my parents, this is me a fully fledged adult (not the fact I don’t live at home, manage my own finances and have a child) and they felt it was time for us to sit down and talk about the future. In particular, their future. I’m blessed in that I don’t have elderly parents just yet but after a few health scares with my dad, they wanted to make sure I was prepared, that we were all prepared should anything happen. Not only that, but since my parents are still young and the average life expectancy is increasing each year, there is a chance,…

A Purrrfect Date Night with… My Cat*
Another weekend has come and gone, and obviously I didn’t have a date. I say obviously because I haven’t been on a date since a disastrous one last April when the guy walked into the coffee shop, saw me and said “no, this isn’t going to work” then left. Man that was a blow for my self esteem! I’d been dumped in the December, decided to put myself straight back out in the January, briefly started seeing a guy that I picked up was bad news from the start, had a few dates with another guy but he was so self righteous we just argued constantly and then coffee shop…

Here are a selection of the worst and most embarrassing faux-pas’ I suffered. Exciting Things To Do With Kids This Summer*
When the kids go back to school next week, they’ll only have one term left before the summer holidays, which means it’s time to get planning! Well for me any way. I live for the summer holidays when I get LM home every day for 6 weeks! Not only that but I’m not tied to school runs! These days you can’t just open your door and send your kids out to play all day, it’s just not safe, so it’s important to have some structured fun planned especially if you’re going to be around, you have to keep your sanity after all! So today I’ve come up with some ideas…
