Lottoland Review*
How many times have you said “when I win the lottery” in response to everything that costs more money than you afford? How many times have you actually played the lottery while saying that line?
The other day on the phone my boyfriend asked me how many times I’ve played the lottery, and the answer is twice. I played once on turning 16 and being able to buy my ticket in a right of passage and another time I played because it was a crazy jackpot and I guess I felt like I had a chance. My dad on the other hand uses “when I win the lottery” as an excuse for everything but he has religiously played the national lottery every Saturday since it launched. He tells me “you have to be in it to win it” and I know he has a point. Recently I was approached by the website Lottoland to review the idea of Lotto Betting and with my dad’s mantra in mind I thought I’d give it a go, given we don’t have a holiday to Walt Disney World in the pipeline and you truly never know.
So what is Lotto Betting? Although the concept is similar to playing the lottery as in you choose which numbers or balls are going to be drawn in a particular syndicate, however you don’t buy a physical ticket to that draw. If you match the correct numbers your money is paid out by Lottoland and not the lottery operator. The concept is a form of betting but it does give you the chance to enter lotteries and draws that you can’t usually enter from the UK. It’s perfectly safe as it works on an insurance model so each bet you makes is insured. Small wins are paid directly from the companies revenue where as larger wins are covered by Lottoland’s insurance model. If you win you will receive the same payout for each prize tier offered by the syndicate you were betting on. One of the best things about playing via Lottoland rather than is their Millionaire Guarantee, meaning if you match all number you will win at least one million pounds.
On giving it a go I decided to enter a couple of different draws, as I was already aware of Euromillions I figured I’d use my credit on the Irish Lottery which is a nice alternative to the lottery we had here and Powerball, an American draw a lot of my friends stateside enter and thanks to Lottoland, I can too!
After you’ve entered you just sit back and wait for the draw and in the mean time you can try out the other things on the Lottoland website such as the instant win games and the scratchcards (which are my personal favourite!) So, if you’re looking for a quick thrill on these cold winter nights definitely check out Lottoland.
