Autumn Fashion Trends: What Should We Expect to See in 2024?*

Here are the hottest trends to be wearing this autumn. By following this guide, you’ll be able to make the most of autumnal-chic in women dresses and clothing, which if I’m perfectly honest, is my absolute favourite trend. ‘Cause who doesn’t love burgundy?

Belted Coats

I’ve always been a fan of the belted coat and it’s nice to see it’s making a come back as it’s such a flattering piece. The belt adds an extra layer of depth to your coat and defines your waistline. Whether you decide to go for a statement fur jacket, or a leather trench coat the belt can pull the look together without the need for fastening. Belts can either be done up or tied as tight or loosely as you like.

Along with the belted coat, the wide waist belts are also reappearing. This was a huge trend in my late teens and early 20s that I really embraced as I don’t have much of a waist. Not only can these be worn over your coat or added to oversized t shirts to define your curves. You can easily find oversized tees for women as wearing them tucked into jeans is also a popular trend.

Cozy Knits

However, if you’re worrying about keeping warm this autumn – Jumper 1234 are sure to keep you warm with fashionable designs that appeal to the comforting colours of the season.

Suit Up

It’s no surprise that the suit is set to storm the globe as women are making a more powerful stance around the world, and why shouldn’t our clothes reflect that! Gone are the opinions that suits are for men. A suit is also a fab way to keep warm during the colder months without wearing multiple layers. Elegantly designed slacks and pressed double-breasted jackets are all the rage this autumn; together with pronounced shoulders and shoulder-width trousers. And don’t forget the long plus size shirts if you need them, they look amazing tucked into tailored trousers. Don’t worry, this isn’t a return of the eighties; it’s power-dressing in 2024.

True Blue

In summer we’re all about the pastel and brights, pale pink contrasting with eye-catching pinks, but as the leaves begin to change so does our choice in colours. The new “it” colour for Autumn 2024 is going to blue and I’m all for it as 90% of my wardrobe is, you guessed it, blue. A pale blue shirt here, a navy pair pencil skirt there. Or why not try a bright blue mac? It would be a stark contrast against the autumn environment around you.

Nylon Jackets

Guys, I hear you. Nylon jackets? Please no. But it’s true. Nylon jackets are going to be big in Autumn 2024, I kid you not! Whether you’re going to a festival, or walking through town, a nylon coat is the transitional outerwear that you’ve been looking for. This is the dream jacket for the intrepid traveller. It never wrinkles, perfect for stuffing in your case to protect you from those inevitable Autumn showers. Not only that, these futuristic jackets can be worn casually with a pair of flats or in the evening with high heels. The main colours will be blacks, browns and greens.

Whether you follow fashion or not, these are the trends you’ll be seeing most popular. I for one am so excited to see everything blue, maybe I can finally replace my beloved blue mac circa 2004!
