Goodbye Three

Cocktails in Teacups Disney Life Travel Parenting Goodbye 3 Little Miss

Today is Little Miss’ last day as a three year old. Tomorrow it’s her 4th birthday. To me, four seems so much older than three. Last year when she went from two to three it didn’t feel like as a big a step. Three still feels like a baby age, or at least a toddler age. But lets face it, four is a big step. At four she’s going to start big school, and wear a uniform and be away from me 6 hours a day for 5 days a week. And I’m dreading it. I’m not ready for that baby stage to be over with in case I never get another chance to do it! With Little Miss turning 4 tomorrow, it feels like I’m finally saying goodbye to my baby.

It’s not all doom and gloom, being three has been fantastic for Little Miss, she’s accomplished so much and I am so incredibly proud of her. Although I want to keep her little forever, I am in love with the little person she’s becoming. She has the most wonderful and endearing personality. A contagious laugh and sense of humour. She’s smart, confident and fun to be around. She’s also got all her own opinions as well as likes and dislikes. In fact she’s becoming a real friend, I love her company more than anyone else. Of course, I’m completely biased when I say this, but she’s a real pretty little thing. I’m so blessed to have her as a daughter.

So here are just some of the things that happened during the year she was three;

– Visited Florida and Walt Disney World, twice.
– Visited Disneyland Paris
– Had her first stay in London
– Learned to write her name and sound out the letters of it
– Conquered her fear of the sea
– Learned to ride a two wheeled scooter
– Made some real friends on holiday and in school
– Improved her appetite and started eating full meals with her knife and fork
– Started collecting Tsum Tsums
– Can recognise and write different numbers
– Had her first trip to the cinema and managed 6 trips over the year (Big Hero 6 x 2, Cinderella, Home, Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur)
– Can sing loads of different songs, and even Christmas songs.
– Met Santa Claus properly (as in not in a procession), twice
– Became completely toilet trained even on holiday.
– Got her first crush
– She did some semi professional modeling for Princess and the Frock, and a lot of unprofessional modeling for Closet Geek.

I’m sure loads of other things happened this year that I can’t even remember off the top of my head. She is more of a rounded person than she was last year at this time. She needs me for so much less and as any mother knows, that is terrifying. But that thrill as she accomplishes something and is now of the age where she can share in the excitement, it can not be matched by anything. I’m one proud mum, and even though I’ll be a complete emotional mess tomorrow, it’s only because I’ve had such fun raising this wonderful little girl.
