A Day in the Life, March 2015
This is my third month of doing my A Day in the Life series and for some reason it’s getting harder to remember to take the blooming photos! I ended up using my SLR and my phone as when I went out I left my camera at my mum’s, DOH! This month I documented a weekend day. It ended up being a slightly unusual weekend due to the fact my dad is working away so he didn’t come home as usual on Friday. Plus me mum was having a fundraiser for the pre-school is runs, so I guess it’s a little more interesting than it could have been!
Morning. Little Miss woke really early so we got up and I dressed her. Then I made her breakfast and tidied up downstairs. Then I went up, made the beds and got dressed. Then I made myself coffee and put on my make up. By this point my sister turned up as we were going to my mum’s pre-school fundraiser, a coffee morning that ended up being a huge success. They raised over £500 in an hour and a half! Little Miss really loved it and I enjoyed the cheesecake slices! We had a good laugh then took the kids to the play park outside. It’s still pretty cold despite it being almost April so we headed back to my mum’s. I had a Starbucks coffee and we ate a lot of cakes and scones for lunch. What a healthy family we are!
Afternoon. After we’d stuffed our faces with all the goodies we’d bought at the coffee morning my sister and I headed into town for a few bits and pieces. It’s hard work taking the kids so my mum usually entertains them for an hour. As i’m so tight for money with the holiday coming up I only bought some pepsi, giant chalks that my mum asked for and a mini bottle of suncream to put on once we arrive in Florida but it was nice to get out of the house for a while. On returning home we found chaos, LM was playing in the lego bin and my mum was tickling her. For some reason she enjoys pretending to be a turtle… I read Hairy Mclary to the kids as it was one of the books I’d picked up at the coffee morning for like 20p. I think I laughed more than the kids! At 4:30 we headed up to Mcdonalds as a treat. Usually we don’t eat with my mum on a Saturday as my dad either cooks or orders a take out, but since he wasn’t here we went to meet my sister’s boyfriend for tea at Mcdonalds. Despite having 4lbs left to loose to reach my one stone mark I had chicken selects and chips and LM ate 5 chicken nuggets (4 of her own and one of my nephew’s) so I think it’s time we graduate her to the box of 6 nuggets because she doesn’t eat chips (or potatoes in any form atm!) We had a good laugh as usual and as LM was so well behaved my mum rewarded her with an ice cream. After we had all finished my mum brought us home and Little Miss went straight to bed.
Evening. As i’d done nothing but eat crap all day I felt lazy in the evening. So I basically lay on the sofa with Elsa and watched Back to the Future Part III. Half way through the evening I went upstairs and brought down all my skincare stuff and took off my make up and used my Glamour freebie of the Balance Me face mask. It left my skin feeling good. Once the movie was finished I headed up to bed, put on my pjs and watched Friends until I fell asleep.
How did you spend your Saturday?
