Days Out in England – KidZania, London
Since we have no big holiday booked this year I’m trying to make 2017 the year of mini adventures. So far we’ve been to Disneyland Paris and last month we went to visit my best friend Bee which included a trip to the cinema to see Beauty and the Beast. I know for a lot of people that isn’t really an adventure but our local cinema isn’t even SHOWING the movie yet so for us going to a cinema to see a newly released movie is a big adventure. This past weekend we ventured to London for the first time (the only time LM has ever been to London is…

Days Out in England – Bones Exhibition at The Great North Museum
Yesterday we continued our trend of having a day away during the school holidays. During Christmas we ventured up to Edinburgh to enjoy the Christmas Market, so this time we headed south and went to Newcastle. Since our #littlediscoveries adventure last year we discovered some great new places including The Great North Museum that Little Miss really enjoyed and when I heard they had a new exhibition on I decided we should go during half term. I asked my mum if she wanted to come with my nephew as he’s really into bones and even wanted to be an archaeologist at one point! So we booked trains and exchanged some…

Our #LittleDiscoveries Adventure to Newcastle, Day Two
Today I’m sharing what we got up to on our second day adventuring in Newcastle. Have you seen yesterday’s post yet? This trip was all about finding some #littlediscoveries in Newcastle with CrossCountry trains before Little Miss starts school next week. We had a fab time including an overnight stay at Sleeperz Hotel. The next morning we woke about 9am. Little Miss watched an hour of My Little Pony while I got dressed and packed. It was great being able to leave our bags at reception so we didn’t have to cart them around Newcastle. The staff were so friendly and we had tickets to ensure we got the right…

Our #LittleDiscoveries Adventure to Newcastle, Day One
Next week Little Miss starts school full time. Real compulsory education. I can’t believe our summer is over and on Wednesday she’ll be putting on her uniform for the first time and walking through the doors of her primary school. She’s so ready. She’s smart, social and ready to learn. However, on the other hand, I’m pretty much falling apart the closer it gets. I have to admit people who don’t have children are struggling to understand how I’m feeling. For the last 3 & a half years, Little Miss has been my lifeline. Days I’ve struggled to get out of bed, she’s been there for me to fully focus…

Weekend in the Peak District
Last weekend it was my other halves birthday so we packed up his car and headed to the Peak District, just the two of us. Long distance relationships are are so hard and I’m not the greatest at them, in fact, I’m the worst. So three days alone with him away from it all was nothing short of bliss. I’m sure no one wants to know the mundane things we got up to just talking and enjoying each other’s company, so instead I’m just sharing some photos because the Peak District really is a beautiful part of the world, one that I haven’t really had the chance to see. This…

Exploring the North East – Barter Books
At the moment Little Miss and I have a friend from the US staying with us meaning we’ve been off on adventures every single day. She’s an Anglophile and love all things quintessentially British which is great because I live in a rather historic part of town. We’ve walked miles every day and my legs are aching but it’s been great and I’ve really enjoyed being a tourist in the county I call home. I don’t plan on staying here forever, so it’s been great letting Little Miss explore! Yesterday we took a bus down to the historic market town of Alnwick to Barter Books. This is somewhere I’ve wanted…
