I’m Hungry by Jorge Martin Blog Tour & Pea and Feta Potato Cakes Recipe

    July 14, 2016 /

As you all know by now, Little Miss and I love a new book, in fact we have a whole monthly segment on the blog dedicated to what we’ve been reading together and I’m sure with her starting school in September her love of books will only increase. Anyway, what I love more thank just simply reviewing a book with Little Miss, it’s getting creative which is why I was so excited to get involved with the I’m Hungry Blog Tour! But more about that in a bit! First up, our review of I’m Hungry. I’m Hungry is a brand new children’s book written by illustrator Jorge Martin. It’s his…

What Little Miss Read April & May 2016

    June 14, 2016 /

Life has suddenly got a little hectic in our house hold meaning i’m falling behind on series posts such as this one because I just don’t have the time to sit down and really write. Life hasn’t stopped, Little Miss is still loving her books, especially new books that introduce her to new series’ like The Fairytale Hairdresser that I’m going to talk about below. It’s now less than 3 months until LM heads off to big school where she will be bringing home books on a weekly basis as she learns to read. And that’s a scary thought! My other half has been wonderful taking full control on teaching…

What Little Miss Read & World Book Day 2016

    March 5, 2016 /

On Thursday it was World Book Day. As a kid, World Book Day was always one of my favourite days of the year because not only could we go to school dressed as our favourite book character (and back then no one went in store bought costumes) but you also got a £1 book token and at that age, that was a lot! And now it’s Little Miss’ turn to take part. In the “baby” room they just have to take their favourite book, but in the bigger room they got to dress up as their favourite character, just like I used to! So, in the back of my mind…

What Little Miss Read – January 2016

    February 7, 2016 /

I’m a week late with the round up of what Little Miss has been reading (or having me read to her) in January, so much so I managed to add another book to the list! I’m only including new books we’ve read as often she likes me to read ones I’ve read a million times before, or sometimes if she goes to bed late, she doesn’t get a story at all. As I’ve mentioned before Little Miss loves books and she’s getting to the age where she likes to look through the pages and tell the story herself. I’m so glad literature is already a big part of her life…

    LM’s Library Books, Week 2

    August 24, 2015 /

Carrying on with our library visits as part of our summer bucketlist, last time LM convinced me into 9 books with a total of 10 stories (one book had 2 stories in, meaning two nights worth of reading). Plus I was away two nights meaning it’s been a while since our last trip to the library. Each book is stamped for a month and since we can take 15 books (I know, right?) I see no sense in going back until we’ve read all the ones we have at home. So we finally took another trip on Friday before we met Bee & her daughter’s off the train. So we…

    LM’s Library Books, Week One

    August 5, 2015 /

As promised, I’m going to be sharing what books we’ve picked up at the library for our bedtime stories each week. LM joined the library as part of our Summer Bucket List since this year is the first time I’ve had her off for the full 6 weeks so I was looking for free things to do. Our library is great with a nice big play area and colouring tables to keep her busy if I just want to have a sit down. Every week we go and pick 7 books, one for each night of the week! Although we are now into our 3rd week of summer, this was…
